Using Wise Folder Hider Free to Protect Your Privacy

Protect your private data or important files from prying eyes with one-click.

In 2017, Wise Cleaner unveiled its 4th version of the Wise Folder Hider Free to the public, which was primarily used for general users to hide object ranging from a single file with any format to unlimited number of folders on their computer. People are always welcome to freely download this software through the Wise Cleaner’s official website.

The most significant change for this 4th version was an adoption of a new hiding technology, which was to load a special driver to protect object. Traditionally, removable directory skill was used in this software to achieve hiding, whose essence was to move a file or a folder to a particular directory of hidden-attribute. That said the tool has to move the important objects to the particular directory. However, by introduction of the aforementioned new driver tech to the 4th version, any type of files and folders in the same computer will begin to have an capability of disappearing itself from normal view without need of moving at all. Not only this is a greater security improvement than it has been, but also make it more worthwhile to pay for a software that are able to hold an unlimited amount of computer data in it.

The flexibility of operating this software is also worth mentioning here. Besides of having objects added through clicking on tabs, you can also either drag and drop files or folders over to its interface directly, or right one-click an object instead to hide from its context menu. Each file or folder to be hidden by the Wise Folder Hider Free will have itself tracked in the interface so that users can check and restore it at any time. What’s more, users are also allowed to set password one by one to hidden things to double enhance their security.

It must be noted that if any password set on this software was forgotten, users are unable to re-access hidden thing. Paying for either retrieving it back or upgrading the free to a professional version will be needed. Here the second option would be strongly recommended, because in a Pro resetting password would no longer need to purchase at.

As people are getting to pay closer attention to privacy protection, hiding and encrypting can be seen as best responses to keeping away that information being exposed to others. Besides of some functions supplied by Windows, there are also a variety of independent software for Windows OS, developed by outstanding development teams across the world, like Wise Cleaner, aiming to achieve the same or even better objective.

Deep Isolation Announces Memorandum of Agreement with NAC International Inc.

Deep Isolation

Deep Isolation has an opportunity not only to further develop the safety and quality of our canister technology, but to implement a waste management strategy that covers onsite interim storage as well as handling, transport, and final disposal.

Deep Isolation, a leading innovator in spent nuclear fuel (SNF) and high-level waste (HLW) storage and disposal solutions, has signed a cooperative agreement with NAC International Inc. (NAC), a leading nuclear fuel cycle consulting and technology solutions company specializing in casks and canister systems for nuclear materials transport and spent fuel storage and disposal.

Deep Isolation and NAC will cooperate in the design, development, and manufacturing of Deep Isolation’s SNF and HLW disposal canister technology. Leveraging NAC’s dry fuel storage technologies, the two companies will collaborate to advance the technical aspects of Deep Isolation’s current solution design for canister storage, disposal, and equipment for the transfer of SNF and HLW from existing storage areas to a Deep Isolation repository.

“With NAC’s global leadership and demonstrated canister safety and design expertise, we have an opportunity not only to further develop the safety and quality of our canister technology, but to implement a waste management strategy that covers onsite interim storage as well as handling, transport, and final disposal,” notes Elizabeth Muller, CEO of Deep Isolation.

NAC International is an innovative leader with proven experience in commercial and governmental nuclear material safeguards management, specializing in the design, licensing, and deployment of storage and transport systems. With over 20 years of decommissioning spent fuel management experience, NAC has supplied a large share of the used fuel systems at decommissioning U.S. utility sites. As a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), NAC has developed and deployed transportable storage systems at DOE sites and has packaged and transported fuel all over the world.

“NAC welcomes this opportunity to work with Deep Isolation and its partners in the development of a safe and efficient integrated waste management solution that is greatly needed by the nuclear industry worldwide,” said Kent Cole, President and CEO of NAC International. “NAC’s technology and knowhow fit well with Deep Isolation’s solution to ensure storage, transport, and disposal objectives are well integrated into efficient waste disposition strategies, tailored to the relative size and needs of each country’s nuclear power program.”

This is the second strategic partnership that the Berkeley-based startup has made in the last 6 months. Earlier this summer, Deep Isolation announced a cooperative agreement with Bechtel National, Inc., part of the largest engineering and construction company in the United States to support Deep Isolation’s sales and engineering capabilities as well as the capacity to deliver its solution around the world.

“In this highly regulated market, it’s critical to bring innovations in waste management through established industry leaders,” comments Rod Baltzer, COO of Deep Isolation. “This partnership demonstrates the impact we are having in this industry and our ability to deliver a storage and disposal solution to governments looking for another option.”

Deep Isolation has gained significant traction this year with a public demonstration of its technology in January, three technical papers published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Energies by MDPI, and most recently the expansion of its business development efforts internationally.

PRO Unlimited Further Enhances Its Cloud Security with Cyber Essentials Certification

News Image

As a leader in the VMS and MSP spaces, we’re always investing in global standards to make our Wand VMS as secure as possible for our worldwide clients.

PRO Unlimited, a global innovator of contingent workforce management software and services, announced today it has achieved the Cyber Essentials certification from the IASME Consortium. The new certification demonstrates that PRO has eclipsed stringent third-party independent assessments of its security as a cloud service provider.

To attain the Cyber Essentials certification, organizations must demonstrate that they have addressed the most common Internet-based threats to cyber security, including:

  • Hacking: exploiting known vulnerabilities in Internet-connected devices, using widely available tools and techniques
  • Phishing: ways of tricking users into installing or executing a malicious application
  • Password Guessing: manual or automated attempts to log on from the Internet by guessing passwords

“This latest certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to offering the most secure VMS solution possible,” said Peter Gaffney, SVP, Systems and CISO at PRO Unlimited. “As a leader in the VMS and MSP spaces, we’re always investing in global standards to make our Wand VMS as secure as possible for our worldwide clients.”

To that end, Wand (PRO’s VMS) is audited on a continual basis both internally and externally. In addition to the Cyber Essentials certification, PRO has been awarded the following certifications:

  • SOC I Type II / SSAE 18
  • ISO/IEC 27001:2013
  • EU Privacy Shield
  • Swiss Safe Harbor
  • CSA STAR Certification
  • ISO/IEC 27017:2015
  • ISO/IEC 27018:2014

These compliance achievements are industry-agnostic. For PRO clients, they provide independent validation of the security controls and processes PRO has implemented to protect client data.

The Most Connected School in the World

Energybox works in a number of industries, one of them being higher education. Energybox has been working with Independent Schools Foundation (ISF Academy) since 2016. With the implementation of Energybox solutions, ISF is the most connected school in the world monitoring nearly 6,000 pieces of equipment such as lighting, HVAC units, AV equipment, projectors, swimming pool boilers, and pumps across their buildings.

ISF was searching for an energy monitoring solution for both sustainability and educational purposes, as practical experience in sustainability practices is becoming more important in the job market. Energybox was able to provide ISF with the actionable visibility they were looking for and have developed a solution that has enabled both staff and students to engage in sustainable practices. This has helped them understand the effect they have on the environment. Together, they created a cutting edge app that consists of two parts. The first part involves the EnergyTracker™ solution. Students and faculty members have access to energy data on an interactive 3D map landscape of the school that shows energy data by building, floor and room-level for granularity. The second part provides a platform for all 2,000 students to compete against each other in energy conservation objectives. They earn points by saving energy, taking quizzes and social sharing.

ISF uses what they call a “rocket” composter which churned out about 27,000 kilograms or 60,000 pounds of food waste in the first year. This amounts to over 90 grams or 3 ounces of waste per student per day. They use the compost material to sell gardening kits throughout Hong Kong to promote the regrowth of plants. Implementing sustainable practices at ISF has created a new and exciting learning experience for students. Diana Zuck Ibarra, who runs Shuyuan science and sustainability program, worked very closely with Energybox in the creation and implementation of these tools. She stated, “We believe that if you can change the behavior of school students, there’s a multiplier effect.”

ISF students and faculty have become more aware of their energy consumption through Energybox solutions. Not only are they learning to be more sustainable, but having fun at the same time with a little healthy competition. The data that they have access to is so granular and allows them to really understand where the most energy is being used in order to reduce and optimize their usage. The app and the implementation of Energybox solutions have encouraged a different way of thinking, leading to a more sustainable and efficient world.

About Energybox:

Cybereason is Joined by Veteran FBI, DHS, U.S. Secret Service and Arlington, VA Officials to Protect Free Elections in 2020

News Image

During Operation Blackout members of many law enforcement agencies strategized on how to respond to direct attacks against the city of Adversaria during the Presidential Election on November 3, 2020

Cybereason, creators of the leading Cyber Defense Platform, and members of both federal and local law enforcement agencies came together on Tuesday, November 5, at Operation Blackout in Washington, DC. The event was hosted by Venable LLP. Operation Blackout is a simulation of a 2020 Presidential Election hack in a fictitious swing state city, Adversaria.

During the Operation Blackout simulation, Red and Blue teams faced off in a strategic duel. The Red team, led by Yonatan Striem-Amit, Cybereason’s CTO and Co-founder and other hackers, were bent on disrupting voting on election day in a moderately-sized swing state city. The Blue team, led by Danielle Wood, Cybereason’s Director of Advisory Services, also included the FBI, DHS, U.S. Secret Service and Arlington, VA Police.

The goal of the tabletop exercise was to examine and advance the preparedness of local and federal law enforcement agencies in the event that nation-state actors try to undermine free elections by attacking infrastructure on election day, November 3, 2020. To date, most election hacking simulations have focused on hacking voter rolls or electronic voting machines.

“Operation Blackout reinforced the fact that the line between the digital and physical world is blurred and keeps getting more so. The rate at which we have developed digital lives and seen digital touch everything is unprecedented. That means we have to practice, and get the protocols, relationships and contingencies right in peacetime for election security and public safety around them. With one year to go until the 2020 elections, what could be more important than to start exploring the possibility that democracy could be disrupted by nation-states,” said Sam Curry, Cybereason’s Chief Security Officer and Operation Blackout White Team Leader.

Both the Red and Blue teams performed well during the simulation. The Red team carried out a series of four moves but overall, their mission failed due to overkill. They wanted to undermine the election, but instead it was cancelled by law enforcement agencies after more than 30 citizens died and 200 were injured. The Blue team took decisive, immediate action throughout the exercise. The integrity of votes wasn’t compromised, but due to public safety concerns the election was rescheduled.

“What a great day in Washington, DC running a simulation with the goals of protecting free elections. It wouldn’t have been possible without the great work of the Cybereason team, Venable LLP, the FBI, DHS, U.S. Secret Service and Arlington, VA Police. Cybereason is on a mission to help train and enable federal and local law enforcement agencies to strategize and defend democracy in the leadup to the 2020 election. Globally, Cybereason is turning the tables on adversaries determined to hack critical infrastructure such as elections and cellular communications,” said Roi Carmel, Cybereason’s Chief Product and Marketing Officer.
