Waggl is the leading Employee Voice solution for Healthcare & Hospital Systems

“Nursing leaders have faced a significant degree of ongoing challenge with respect to the COVID-19 crisis, and they have valuable insight about the best way to ensure a successful community rollout,” said Michelle Cardinal, Deputy Managing Director, Programming, Opal Group.

Waggl, the most powerful Employee Voice platform for hospital systems, today released final results from its current “The Voice of Healthcare Workers” pulse, a dynamic resource that enables frontline healthcare workers to share real-time suggestions and insights with their peers about critical issues in healthcare today.

“The Voice of Healthcare Workers” collaborative pulse received thousands of votes from frontline healthcare workers, who were invited to add their voices to an important dialogue about the COVID-19 vaccination. The pulse consisted of three question statements and one open-ended question relating to the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination, built on Waggl’s Employee Voice platform, a real-time platform that quickly and easily enables organizations to measure and improve engagement with crowdsourcing and simple data visualizations to create more actionable dialogue between leaders and their teams.

“We deeply appreciate the opportunity for the registrants of the upcoming Chief Nursing Officer Summit, many of whom are directly involved with patient care, to add their voices to the ongoing dialogue about the vaccine,” said Michelle Cardinal, Deputy Managing Director, Programming, Opal Group. “Nursing leaders have faced a significant degree of ongoing challenge with respect to the COVID-19 crisis, and they have valuable insight about the best way to ensure a successful community rollout. As we’ve seen from this pulse, most frontline healthcare professionals believe that educating the public on the actual data from the trials will be critical.”

Waggl’s “The Voice of Healthcare Workers” pulse posed an open-ended question, “What is one suggestion you have to ensure a successful rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine to the broader community?” Crowdsourced responses were distilled into a ranked list. Here are the top five responses:

  • “Combat misinformation and establish confidence in the vaccine by educating the public on the actual data from the trials. People don’t seem to realize the vaccine has been studied in 20K people with robust safety and efficacy data. Also – government leadership on messaging the importance would help.”
  • “Transparency about the vaccine process and a clear unified message about the safety of the vaccine.”
  • “The more healthcare workers show that they trust the science behind the vaccine, the less the general public will fear it. Keep sharing your vaccination!”
  • “Making it free! Multiple creative venues like parking lots or drive-thru areas, run by hospitals/pharmacists. Just like when doing massive swab tests for COVID.”
  • “Community outreach. Go to people. Make it easy for them to get vaccinated. Pool resources and make available vaccines easily identifiable so people can find locations to vaccinate. Continual updates to locations, availability, and how to sign up for the prioritized groups. No waste!”

Waggl’s research indicates that 97% of respondents plan to receive the COVID-19 vaccination once it is made available to them, with some variation by geography, racial/ethnic identification and role. In aggregate, 74% of participants agreed with the statement, “My organization has provided clear communication about our vaccination plan, including when the vaccine will be made available to me,” with physicians (83%) and healthcare workers who have multiple roles (81%) responding more affirmatively than nurses (69%) and non-clinical healthcare workers (64%). The pulse results also indicate that 61% of healthcare workers have concerns about the broader community receiving the vaccine once it is made available to them, with significant variation according to geographic location. Among clinical nurses, 64% expressed concerns.

The most common themes emerging from this initial pulse include:

  • The importance of getting/receiving the vaccine
  • Safety and efficacy of the vaccine
  • Side effects
  • Clear communication
  • Community Outreach
  • Educating the public
  • Easy access
  • Transparency

“Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve continually witnessed unprecedented responsiveness and agility from our leading healthcare and hospital systems customers, including University of Utah Health, UCHealth, VA North Texas, and others,” said Michael Papay, Co-founder and CEO, Waggl. “They’ve used Waggl to ask their people important questions about topics ranging from how they could help with their safety and well-being, to how they could simplify their work and boost their effectiveness. This has undoubtedly fueled the resilience we’re seeing across so many organizations.”

In the keynote for Opal Group’s Chief Nursing Officer Annual Summit on January 20-21, Waggl Co-founder Adam Tanner will share additional results data and critical insights that can better inform Nursing Leaders and their organizations on vaccine rollout. Additional speakers include Marilyn Riley, Chief Nursing Officer, IU Health; Legay Naseath, Chief Nursing Officer, Banner Health ChurchHill Community Hospital; Lisa Romano, RN, MSN, Chief Nursing Officer, Cipher Health; Debra Garton, Chief Nursing Officer, OSS Health.

Biospectal Announces Public Beta Launch Of OptiBP™ For Android At CES 2021

Biospectal, the optical revolution in medical-grade blood pressure measurement and monitoring

Biospectal’s patented OptiBP technology replaces the antiquated traditional blood pressure cuff and provides medical-grade blood pressure measurement and management at the ‘point of patient’ in the time it takes to download an app.

Biospectal, the remote patient monitoring and biosensing software company, today announced the public beta launch of Biospectal OptiBP™ for Android as part of the SWISS Pavilion at the all-digital 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Backed by grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada and Innosuisse, Biospectal OptiBP empowers people worldwide with a medical-grade device that integrates directly into the ubiquitous smartphone already in their pocket, enabling instantaneous blood pressure measurement and monitoring, anytime and anywhere. View a short video of how Biospectal OptiBP works here.

[According to the CDC, hypertension affects nearly 46% or 100M US adults, while the World Health Organization estimates 1.13Bn people worldwide have hypertension. Dubbed the “silent killer,” only one in five people afflicted with hypertension have control over the condition. People need an easy to use, digital means to accurately measure, monitor, track and share their blood pressure data with their doctors; a need that the onset of COVID-19 and demand for telehealth solutions has only amplified.

“Democratizing and providing easy access to blood pressure monitoring to people worldwide enables improved treatment and impacts medical outcomes. Biospectal OptiBP is a prime example of a broader transition toward remote patient monitoring that moves the clinical functions and capability out of the professional setting to the ‘point of patient’ where they live,” said Eliott Jones, CEO of Biospectal. “Biospectal’s patented OptiBP technology replaces the antiquated traditional blood pressure cuff and provides medical-grade blood pressure measurement and management at the ‘point of patient’ in the time it takes to download an app — without the need for yet another wearable device or additional bulky hardware. Health-conscious consumers and hypertensive patients worldwide can now contribute to, and be involved in their health outcomes in a way that hasn’t existed previously.”

How Biospectal OptiBP Works.

The Biospectal OptiBP app runs on a typical smartphone and uses the built-in camera to record and measure a user’s blood flow via their fingertip quickly and easily. A measurement is rendered in approximately 20 seconds — half the time of a typical blood pressure cuff. Biospectal’s proprietary algorithms and optical signal capture methods then transform the captured data into blood pressure values. With Biospectal’s software solutions, anyone in the world with a smartphone can turn their device into a connected, smart, clinical-grade monitor in the time it takes to download and install an app. Additionally, the captured blood pressure data connects seamlessly with a user’s clinicians to support treatment regimens that help improve health, longevity and quality of life. Key benefits include:

  • Connected remote patient monitoring shortens the pathway from measurement to action in a clinical regimen;
  • Ease of use with an existing, ubiquitous device — the smartphone — removes adherence barriers;
  • Allows users to measure and monitor their blood pressure in their ‘natural’ environment, which is ideally where blood pressure should be monitored;
  • App form factor offers continuous product improvement and feature updates; and
  • Unprecedented data insights via global device network drives higher value for drug development and lower insurance costs.

A recent large-scale, third-party clinical research study published by Scientific Reports in Nature validated the ability of the Biospectal OptiBP smartphone app to accurately measure blood pressure utilizing transdermal optical sensing and a smartphone camera lens. No other blood pressure monitoring and management device on the market offers both the medical-grade accuracy and convenience of Biospectal. “For low and middle-income countries around the globe, this type of technology is a game changer in the fight against non-communicable diseases, dominated by hypertension and cardiovascular disease,” said Prof. Alain Labrique, DIrector of the Johns Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative and Associate Chair for Research. “For the billions of people living in remote, rural communities, having access to accurate blood pressure readings will enable early diagnosis and hopefully, treatment — preventing illness and loss of life.”

Biospectal trained its software algorithm using over two million resulting invasively acquired blood pressure samples recorded in the operating room of the CHUV in partnership with the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM), and then validated it with outpatients in the hypertension clinic CHUV. The company’s patented technology represents 10+ years of non-invasive optical biosensing R&D led by Biospectal Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Patrick Schoettker, M.D.

The Biospectal OptiBP for Android public beta is available now in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Interested participants can register for the public beta here or sign up to be notified once Biospectal OptiBP becomes available in their country. Contact biospectal@wearemgp.com to set up a meeting at CES, January 11 – 14, 2021 or access the press kit here.

About Biospectal

iBUYPOWER Debuts the New Revolt 3 MK3 Case During CES 2021

iBUYPOWER Revolt 3 MK3

iBUYPOWER, a leading manufacturer of high-performance custom gaming PCs, today announced its latest addition to the legendary Revolt series of cases, the Revolt 3 MK3, during the all-digital Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The small form factor (SFF) Revolt 3 MK3 will be designed to support a wide variety of high-performance PC components. Enabled by its perforated panels, the natural layout of the 18.4-liter case creates three separate airflow zones, one for the CPU and motherboard, one for the power supply (PSU), and one for the graphics card (GPU), to mitigate the heat transfer between components. Users can mount up to a 280mm radiator to the hinged internal panel as well as an optional 80mm exhaust fan to the top of the Revolt to help promote better GPU thermals.

The Revolt 3 MK3 will come equipped with a 700W 80 Plus Gold SFX-L PSU installed and cables pre-routed for easy assembly and internal cable management. All system I/Os will route under the case to a large cutout where plug-in ports can easily be accessed and unsightly external cables can be managed and kept out of sight. With the ability to remove every exterior panel and keeping with the signature competition focused features originally introduced with iBUYPOWER’s Revolt 2, users will be able to access and easily upgrade or swap the graphics card and storage devices without having to remove any other components or adjust cabling.

With no shortage of connectivity, the Revolt 3 MK3 will provide support for three USB 3.2 ports on the front I/O. Two Type-A ports will be routed internally to connect to the motherboard’s Gen 1 header and a Type-C port pass through will connect to the motherboard’s rear I/O. For portability and convenience, an included carrying handle is built into the top of the case, sitting flush with the top panel as to not disrupt the clean lines, but pops up with a push. In addition, pop-out holders on both sides of the case give users a place to hang their headset or other accessories when not in use.

Standing vertically, the Revolt 3 MK3 will feature a modern design with black and white color options and a contrasting, swappable, colored mesh inlay behind the front panel to allow for customization.

Availability

The Revolt 3 MK3 is expected to be available for purchase at the end of Q2, 2021 as part of an iBUYPOWER system or a standalone case.

TechSage Solutions Achieves CMMC Registered Provider Organization (RPO) Status

TechSage Solutions helps DoD Contractors along their journey toward CMMC success.

TechSage Solutions announces that we have been approved as a CMMC Registered Provider Organization (RPO) by the CMMC Accreditation Board, allowing us to provide consulting, remediation and ongoing compliance management for Department of Defense Contractors and third party suppliers striving to achieve their new mandatory Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).

The Department of Defense (DoD) released its new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) version 1.0 on January 31, 2020. The CMMC is a unified standard for implementing cybersecurity across the entire defense industrial base (DIB) supply chain that includes 300,000 plus companies. CMMC was developed to combat the rise of significant compromises of sensitive Department of Defense information that can be found on contractors’ computer systems. Contractors have previously been able to self certify that they had implemented appropriate security controls on their information technology.

The CMMC structures five cybersecurity certification levels ranging from Basic cyber hygiene to Advanced/Progressive including 17 domains, 171 practices and 43 capabilities with a variety of regulatory requirements.

The new DFARS 252.204-7012 Interim Rule was released September 29, 2020 that includes a clause for adding CMMC as a requirement in DoD contracts and requiring all DoD contractors to submit a NIST SP 800-171 Self Assessment score into the SPRS system.

The CMMC Accreditation Body recently began screening individual applicants for Registered Practitioners (RP) and company applicants for Registered Provider Organization (RPO) status. RPOs are required to have RPs working with them to assist DoD contractors with preparing for their CMMC assessments. TechSage Solutions is honored to be among the first companies to earn RPO status. As an RPO our TechSage Solutions RPs have gone through the CMMCAB RP training to become knowledgeable about CMMC standards, provide CMMC consulting services, receive our listing in the CMMC market place and proudly display our official logo.

CMMC Consulting Services

Since the CMMC program was officially released in January 2020 our TechSage team has been studying the standard and learning the requirements of the various certification levels and their underpinnings to develop a high level of expertise. We’ve developed processes and procedures to allow us to successfully prepare DoD contractors for their NIST SP 800-171 Self Assessment along with their System Security Plans (SSP) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) that will lead directly into preparation for their CMMC assessments. We’re offering a FREE Initial Consultation for DoD contractors that want to learn more about CMMC and how to prepare for their assessment. Early Research from Waggl Indicates that 58% of Frontline Healthcare Workers Are Most Concerned About COVID-19 Vaccine Adoption

Logo for The Voice of Healthcare Workers

“The Voice of Healthcare Workers” is a dynamic resource that enables frontline healthcare workers to share real-time suggestions and insights with their peers.

“We’ve developed ‘The Voice of Healthcare Workers’ to give our frontline healthcare heroes a collective voice and ensure all healthcare organizations and the people who work for them have the most current data and insights to navigate these next few months,” said Michel Papay, CEO, Waggl.

Waggl, the most powerful Employee Voice platform for hospital systems, today released preliminary results from “The Voice of Healthcare Workers,” a dynamic resource that enables frontline healthcare workers to share real-time suggestions and insights with their peers about the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination.

“With the COVID-19 vaccine being distributed to the front-line healthcare workforce, healthcare employees are once again giving the rest of the nation hope and strength through their bravery and their continued resolve,” said Michael Papay, Co-founder and CEO, Waggl. “Knowing that our health and safety are inextricably connected, we are excited to see several of our health systems start to ask their employees about their readiness to receive the vaccine, and their concerns for the greater community. We’ve developed ‘The Voice of Healthcare Workers’ to give our frontline healthcare heroes a collective voice and ensure all healthcare organizations and the people who work for them have the most current data and insights to navigate these next few months.”

For “The Voice of Healthcare Workers” collaborative pulse, hundreds of frontline healthcare workers participated in an important dialogue about the COVID-19 vaccination. The pulse is built on Waggl’s Employee Voice platform, a real-time platform that quickly and easily enables organizations to measure and improve engagement with crowdsourcing and simple data visualizations to create more actionable dialogue between leaders and their teams.

The initial pulse, which will continue to run until December 31, consists of three question statements and one open-ended question relating to the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination. An early preview of responses to date indicates that the vast majority of respondents plan to receive the vaccination once it is made available to them, with some variation by geography, racial/ethnic identification and role. In aggregate, 77% of participants agreed with the statement, “My organization has provided clear communication about our vaccination plan, including when the vaccine will be made available to me,” with physicians (82%) and healthcare workers who have multiple roles (86%) responding more affirmatively than nurses (71%) and non-clinical healthcare workers (70%).

Preliminary findings also indicate that 58% of healthcare workers have concerns about the broader community receiving the vaccine once it is made available to them, with significant state-by-state variation. Among clinical nurses, 65% expressed concerns. The pulse concluded with the open-ended question, “What is one suggestion you have to ensure a successful rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine to the broader community?” Crowdsourced responses were distilled into a ranked list.

  • “Increased education. If people don’t believe it’s safe it doesn’t matter how effective it is or how many doses are available, they won’t take it.”
  • “More explanation about how the vaccine works, that the sore arm, muscle aches, etc. are signs that our immune systems are learning how to fight COVID and why it’s important to keep using the masks even after you’ve had both vaccine injections.”

The most common themes emerging from this initial pulse include:

  • The importance of getting/receiving the vaccine
  • Safety and efficacy of the vaccine
  • Side effects
  • Clear communication
  • Community Leaders
  • Educating the public
  • Easy access
  • Transparency

“Throughout the past year, Waggl has helped to raise the voices of frontline healthcare workers, through our valued partnerships with leading hospital systems such as University of Utah Health, UCHealth, VA North Texas, and others,” said Michael Papay, Co-founder and CEO, Waggl. “We’ve witnessed our healthcare customers using Waggl to ask their people important questions about topics ranging from how they could help with their safety and well-being, to how they could simplify their work and boost their effectiveness. The responsiveness and agility we’ve witnessed has been unprecedented and has undoubtedly fueled the resilience we’re seeing across so many organizations.”

In a further effort to bring urgency to capturing the voice of healthcare providers, such as frontline nurses, Waggl will offer the keynote at Opal Group’s Chief Nursing Officer Annual Summit on January 21, and share results data and critical insights that can better inform Nursing Leaders and their organizations on vaccine rollout.

Baris Erdogan succeeds Ian Rentsch as CEO of Clinerion

Ian Rentsch joined Clinerion as Chief Executive Officer from IQVIA in April, 2018, with over 24 years’ experience in corporate affairs, outsourcing management and clinical research development positions at leading multinational companies, including biopharma in emerging markets. Rentsch successfully executed Clinerion’s strategy, with the goal to become the leader in real-world data solutions outside the U.S.A. In the three years of his tenure, Clinerion doubled its revenues year-on-year, as well as doubled the global footprint and reach from our hospital network. Rentsch established Clinerion as a strong and efficient partner for pharma, CROs and hospitals.

Baris Erdogan, PhD, has been named the new CEO of Clinerion and will take over from Ian Rentsch on January 1st, 2021. Erdogan, currently Vice President, Site & Patient Networks, started his career as a computer engineer from the Middle East Technical University and holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in educational technology. His expertise and experience include management of innovative medical informatics projects and the implementation of end-to-end healthcare IT enterprise information systems, both in the public and private sectors. Erdogan joined Clinerion in 2013 and has been the main driver of the continued rapid expansion of Clinerion’s global clinical network, currently with real-time, live data reach of more than 33 million patients in 17 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Pierre Jaccoud, Chairman of Clinerion’s Board of Directors, says: “We thank Ian for his outstanding achievements in developing Clinerion as a leader in the fast-developing world of real-world data solutions. We regret losing Ian, but sympathize with his personal reasons for returning to Berlin to focus on his personal health and family. We wish Ian every success and are thankful that we can continue our relationship beyond his formal exit date. Ian will support the transition to Baris Erdogan until the end of January, 2021. For the Board of Directors, Baris is the ideal successor as CEO. He knows Clinerion, our excellent employees and outstanding technology, and has in-depth understanding of clinical research. He will continue to drive Clinerion on the path set by Ian. We are happy that we can fill the CEO position through internal promotion, which demonstrates the quality of “the Bench” at Clinerion. He has the full support of the Board.”
