Pennsylvania Firefighter Receives the Garage of His Dreams Thanks to California Casualty

Kyle accepting his $7,500 Garage Makeover from California Casualty

I don’t do the work I do for recognition, but it is great when a company like California Casualty acknowledges the hard work that we do. It makes me extremely grateful.

Kyle Albrecht’s holidays just got much better, thanks to the $7,500 Garage Makeover Sweepstakes from California Casualty. Kyle was presented with the grand prize last week during a station meeting at the Nancy Run Fire Station. Kyle was one of 16,000 first responders who entered the contest.

Kyle anticipates using the funds for tool storage and other accessories for his garage. “I am super surprised and beyond excited,” he said. “The timing is perfect; my wife and I bought our forever home last year and we just purchased a storage shed so we could clean out the garage to make it more useful.”

Kyle, whose father was a firefighter, knew he wanted to be in the fire service since his teens. He is a volunteer firefighter/paramedic for the Nancy Run Fire Company and is a full-time 911 dispatcher.

“I really enjoy helping others and love what I do. Our fire department serves Bethlehem Township and surrounding areas with fire suppression, emergency medical care, and fire prevention and education services.”

Kyle is on a personal mission to inform his community about the importance of fire and emergency safety. “I ask anyone who reads this to learn CPR and check their smoke detectors,” he said.

Kyle admits that he works hard and uses family time to relax and recharge after long days at work. “My family and kids are the most important part of my life, I do it all for them,” he said.

California Casualty initiated the $7,500 Garage Makeover contest to say thanks to first responders, who face dangers every day protecting people and property in their communities.

“We are thankful for the tough job first responders do every day for all of us,” said California Casualty Sr. Vice President Mike McCormick. “We wanted to show our appreciation and provide a useful way to say thanks.”

Life & Pensions Insurance BPO Will See 9-11% Growth in 2020 as End-to-End Third-Party Administration Grows—Everest Group

In the coming year, we will see third-party outsourcing partnerships redefined around customer satisfaction, digital transformation, operational optimization and innovation in product development and distribution.

Everest Group predicts 9 to 11% growth in the Life and Pension (L&P) insurance business process outsourcing (BPO) market in 2020 on the heels of 9% growth in 2019. Everest Group projects the industry’s most prominent trend in 2020 will be a growth in demand for end-to-end third-party administration (TPA) services and Business Process as a Service (BPaaS).

The L&P insurance BPO market has seen a consistent pace of year-on-year growth in the range of 9 to 10% since 2014 as the industry has experienced a modest evolution in buyer-service provider relationships. L&P insurance third-party outsourcing arrangements are moving beyond transactional services to strategic business growth and transformation support. For example, high-growth services include new product launches, expansion of distribution channels, and customer financial advisory services.

Service providers’ expansion of capabilities to more value-additive services is also absolutely necessary for competitive differentiation, since higher straight-through processing, self-service, and automated process will make the traditional policy administration services more standardized across providers.

To differentiate and also accommodate the growth in demand for end-to-end TPA/BPaaS services, almost all the major service providers continue to invest in core policy administration platforms, digital augmentation applications and talent capabilities.

Dr. Langer is the CEO and chairman of the EOS GROUP, a family-owned business that comprises EOS GmbH, Additive Manufacturing Customized Machines (AMCM), Additive Manufacturing Metals (AM Metals), Metal for Printing (M4P, Advanced Laser Materials (ALM), and Kunststoff Vertrieb Dr. Schiffers (KVS). As CEO and chairman, he oversees the strategic alignment of the EOS GROUP of companies.

In 1989, Dr. Langer founded EOS GmbH with the vision to produce three-dimensional objects directly from CAD data using laser technology. With a pioneering spirit and an in-depth knowledge of market requirements, Dr. Langer expanded the company into an independent and world-leading manufacturer of high-end solutions in the field of additive manufacturing.

Prior to the founding of EOS, Dr. Langer was active in research at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and managing director at General Scanning. He studied physics at the Technical University of Munich and was awarded a Ph.D. in Laser Technology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich in 1980.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Dr. Langer will take the stage for a casual, relaxed interview during the AMUG Conference. In this Innovators Showcase, he will respond to questions asked by the host and conference attendees with the intent of getting to know the man behind the innovations and gaining guidance from his experiences.
