W.E. Commodore, an avid researcher of domestic violence and history and a lecturer to inmates who have suffered with violence, has completed his new book “Transformation: A Journey from Abuser to Advocate”: an emotional and powerful story of overcoming the environmental factors that lead to mental and emotional health or turmoil.

Commodore writes, “My stepfather answered the doorbell, and when he heard my father say, ‘You can have your son back,’ he tried to reason with my father but to no avail. There was no explanation given for such a drastic 180-degree about-face. I brought my clothes and other belongings acquired in the short time that I had lived with my father up to my bedroom. As I moved back in, I realized that I was back unprotected again. My father was gone, and my mother and stepfather felt betrayed by my act of independence and had their way of reinforcing their parental authority over me. My experience living with my father lasted only a few months, but it disrupted my junior year of high school. I fell behind in my grades, so I was not able to compete in track and field, and even though no one on the team said anything, I knew I’d let them down. My friends saw my experience but never commented on my situation.”

Published by Page Publishing, W.E. Commodore’s insightful tale takes the reader inside the mind of a child born into social and cultural conditions that shaped the emotions and behaviors leading up to a self-destructive personality.

With the journey to mental and emotional healing, it displays a fusion of teachings and principles that transforms one’s own spiritual nature.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “Transformation: A Journey from Abuser to Advocate” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
