The Pacific Northwest is leading the trend in prescribing fitness as part of promoting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We’re excited to provide a service that helps people stay active, even during our rainy winters.

Fitness Machine Technicians, specialists in the maintenance and repair of exercise equipment for commercial and residential customers, announced it will open its first location in Washington today. Michael and Dawn Lee of Mount Vernon will own and manage the local office.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Fitness Machine Technicians operates in more than 70 markets across the country and offers service/repair and maintenance on a variety of exercise equipment in fitness centers, universities, high schools, hotels, apartment complexes, corporate gyms and private residences.

Michael and Dawn began their first foray into entrepreneurship by flipping houses – it was a part-time project that would eventually inspire their interest in opening their own business full-time.

A board member and coach for the Washington State Student Cycling League, Michael states, “The Pacific Northwest is leading the trend in prescribing fitness as part of promoting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We’re excited to provide a service that helps people stay active, even during our rainy winters.”

After studying Aerospace Engineering at Embry Riddle University and receiving his Master’s in Business from Pepperdine University, Michael began his career as a Design Engineer with McDonnell Douglass, and later with Boeing as a Technical Sales Engineer. With his background in both engineering and business, he and Dawn explored franchising opportunities and found Fitness Machine Technicians to be the perfect combination of their strengths and passion for fitness and nutrition.

Dawn studied Nutrition at Cornell University and continued her education at Bastyr University in Kenmore. For the past 12 years, she has run a part-time business teaching nutrition, yoga, and reiki. She and Michael are also trail-building advocates.

“Health and fitness have always been priorities in our lives,” says Dawn. “We’ve taught our kids the importance of staying active and couldn’t think of a better way to share our passion than by opening a business that allows us to help our very active community stay fit,” she adds.

Since its inception, Fitness Machine Technicians has been committed to delivering reliable service/repair and preventive maintenance services to customers across the nation. With more than 35 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Chief Executive and Founder Don Powers created a company that puts its customers first.

Powers notes, “We’re so excited to continue expanding into the Pacific Northwest and are thrilled to welcome Michael and Dawn to the Fitness Machine Technicians family – they both bring great experience to our team and a passion for serving their active community.”

In the coming months, Michael and Dawn will expand their territory to Seattle and Olympia.
