AWATfit to Donate 25% of Class Costs to Mashashimuet Park’s Playground Fund

Hamptons-based mobile fitness franchise AWATfit (All Weather All Terrain Fitness) has plans to raise over $25K for Mashashimuet Park’s playground fund over the next 60 days by hosting outdoor classes in the park. The brand has committed to donating $10 from each participating class member’s $40 class charge.

AWATfit mobilizes fitness by building equipment into specialty trucks perfect for group training events in wide-open spaces. As a longtime resident of the Hamptons, AWATfit’s CEO Richard Decker is excited by the opportunity to give back to his community through his business, and now more than ever, is eager to promote community involvement within his franchise network as it grows.

“Giving back to my community is incredibly important to me. This is my community,” Decker explained. “And not only will this donation help improve the park for the children of the community, it will also help to promote new business ventures to those who attend the classes. AWATfit is an incredibly attractive prospect for someone in the fitness industry who wants to own their own business, and I’m hopeful that this fundraiser might be the best way to reach those who might not yet know their potential.”

During the pandemic, the demand for local training service options has been overwhelming as people are still weary of working out in enclosed spaces like traditional brick-and-mortar gyms. For Decker and AWATfit, this has been an incredible opportunity for growth — Most recently AWATfit signed its first franchisee in Port Jefferson, New York who is set to open next month.

“Whether you’re a professional athlete or just trying to get some exercise in after work, the one thing that everyone hates about going to the gym is the environment — running in place, staring at walls, and now germs,” says Decker. “When you exercise outdoors, your energy and mood increase automatically, but most people don’t have access to a full set of gym equipment outside.”

AWATfit plans to start the fundraising as soon as possible, with classes in Mashashimuet Park set for all of September. In addition to the funds raised for the playground fund by the initial class fees, those who are interested can also contribute donations separate from the fee as well.
