Omega Institute Welcomes Neonu Jewell to Board of Directors

Attorney, executive, and consultant Neonu Jewell has been named to the non-profit Omega Institute’s Board of Directors

As a nonprofit dedicated to lifelong learning, we believe Neonu’s expertise in transformational education will be crucial as we seek to implement our strategic plan, which includes building in greater equity and inclusion into all aspects of Omega.

Neonu Jewell, founder and chief executive officer of the Christmas Jewell Corporation, and chief executive officer and spiritual director of The Niyah Center, an interfaith nonprofit, has been named to Omega Institute’s board of directors. Jewell brings more than 20 years of legal expertise, executive coaching, and a strong commitment to social justice to her role at Omega. Jewell’s focus is on transformational leadership, personal empowerment, and promoting inclusive cultures where people can live and work effectively across differences.

“Neonu Jewell joins our board at a pivotal time, as we are scaling Omega’s global impact and creating a climate for positive change,” said Omega president Carla Goldstein. “As a nonprofit dedicated to lifelong learning, we believe Neonu’s expertise in transformational education will be crucial as we seek to implement our strategic plan, which includes building in greater equity and inclusion into all aspects of Omega.”

Omega’s board chair, David Orlinsky, added, “I am excited about the exceptional combination of professional acumen, leadership experience, and attention to social impact that Neonu will bring to the table.”

In addition, Jewell is a member of the teaching faculty for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinder Program.

Jewell launched her legal career as a corporate and international regulatory compliance attorney. She later served as International Trade Counsel for Fortune 100 companies, and as the president and general counsel of a tech company. Jewell holds a Jurus Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University. She will complete her Master’s of Divinity from the Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University in 2021.
