California Casualty recently honored California’s Distinguished Schools and the 2020 Teachers of the Year at separate gala events hosted by the California Department of Education (CDE).

California Casualty is the Presenting Sponsor of the California School Recognition Program that recognizes exemplary schools, teachers and classified school employees for achievement and advancing excellence in education.

“We appreciate the involvement and generous sponsorship of California Casualty, which supports the CDE so that we are able to recognize 2020 California Distinguished Schools, California Teachers of the Year, Classified Employees of the Year, and National Blue Ribbon Schools at recognition ceremonies,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. “These awards are imperative because they highlight excellence in California education, provide a network to share best practices, and reward and recognize the hard-working educators, staff, and school communities that help all students.”

At the Distinguished Schools event California Casualty Assistant Vice President Lisa Almeida greeted attendees and introduced State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. “All of us at California Casualty are proud to be a part of the California School Recognition Program. Celebrating the successes of our Distinguished and other school awardees is a true honor. We know how hard all of our educators are working to provide the very best learning experiences for our students and we want to applaud their extraordinary efforts” she said.

At the Teachers of the Year gala, Chief Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Stephanie Gregson, California Casualty and the California Teachers Association showed their support for the five outstanding teachers that State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond described as incredible for their focus, drive, and determination to teach young people in California.

“The experience of both evenings was nothing less than magical” stated Debbie Harris, California Casualty’s Vice President of Field Relations.

“We are honored to celebrate these exceptional educators in partnership with the California Department of Education, California Teachers Association and the Association of California School Administrators,” said California Casualty CEO, Joe Volponi. “Their dedication and innovative leadership are an inspiration for all.”
