Lake Road Advisors Expands Team to Better Serve Their Clients

Lake Road Advisors, a fee-only financial planning firm in Upstate New York announced the hiring of Kevin Burns as Associate Advisor. In November 2019, Burns joined the firm’s Founder, Paul Sydlansky, CFP®, in his mission to help families build a plan to feel confident about their financial future.

In 2016, Sydlansky founded Lake Road Advisors to provide expert financial advice and education that can help families and business owners simplify their lives. The firm carries a fiduciary designation, meaning its advisors have a moral and legal responsibility to put their clients’ best interests first.

In his new role, Burns supports the firm’s charge to offer simplified, accessible financial planning services. Burns will be critical in creating a positive, customer-first experience and serving the firm’s growing client base.

Burns has spent 15 years working in the financial industry. Beginning in Och-Ziff Capital Management (now Sculptor Capital Management), Burns helped build and oversee a team for treasury operations and operational build outs. He continued with leadership roles at both The Blackstone Group and Highbridge Capital Management. During that time, Burns developed his passion for providing guidance to others. Burns wants to transfer this skillset to helping individuals and small businesses maximize their financial futures.
