The Brand New FASTer Way to Fat Loss App

The Brand New FASTer Way to Fat Loss App

“We have helped 215,000 people get well, find energy and fulfill their purpose by following our cutting-edge fitness and nutrition strategies. Now, we’re making it even easier to chase good health by putting all of our resources in one convenient app.”

FASTer Way to Fat Loss®, the premier health, fitness, and weight loss program on the market, has launched a newly designed app for customers that will enhance its six-week online bootcamp program with customized macros, food logs, recipes, workouts and more all at your fingertips.

“We have helped 215,000 people get well, find energy and fulfill their purpose by following our cutting-edge fitness and nutrition strategies. Now, we’re making it even easier to chase good health by putting all of our resources in one convenient app,” said FASTer Way to Fat Loss founder and program creator, Amanda Tress.

The new app eliminates the need for customers to sync information from other data tracking sites. Instead, the FASTer Way to Fat Loss app upgrade now has all-in-one features such as:

  • An exclusive macro calculator to track carbohydrate, protein and fat along with calories, fiber and micronutrients
  • A food log with weekly meal guides and recipes
  • A FASTer Way to Fat Loss verified food database with easy search function
  • A timer for intermittent fasting reminders
  • A calculator to track daily water intake
  • A workout library with 30-minute daily workouts
  • A digital studio with bonus workouts including HIIT, Strength, Kettlebell, Cycling, Abs and Travel Workouts

“We know life is hectic, and balancing work and home can leave little space for investing in ourselves. There isn’t time to log in to different apps and websites to track health goals and set new ones, and we hope these updates to the FASTer Way to Fat Loss app provide a quick and easy way for both women and men to take control of their health,” said Tress.

The FASTer Way to Fat Loss combines key scientific nutrition and exercise strategies that provide wellness benefits such as balanced blood sugar and hormone levels, decreased inflammation and better overall health to help fight disease.

In addition to carbohydrate cycling, intermittent fasting and macronutrient tracking, the FASTer Way incorporates strategic workouts that maximize the effects of a well-paired nutrition plan.

Once customers complete the six-week online program, they transition to the VIP Membership and gain access to additional features in the app, plus opportunities to work 1:1 with a team of wellness professionals, including FASTer Way Head Trainers and Health Coaches.

The FASTer Way to Fat Loss app is available now for iPhones and Androids and can be downloaded in the online stores where apps are purchased for your device.

Gastrointestinal Surgery Coming to Sun City Center in Hillsborough County

News Image

“With over 60 million Americans suffering from digestive diseases nationwide,” says Josh Helms, PPOA’s Chief Operating Officer, “These services are guaranteed to make an immediate impact on the local Sun City community and patients throughout Florida.”

Sun City Ambulatory Surgery Center, a Physician Partners of America company, is partnering with surgeons from across Hillsborough County to start treating gastrointestinal patients by the end of the year. This expansion of services will provide affordable, convenient healthcare options to Hillsborough County, currently an underserved market.

This brand-new facility will further PPOA’s mission of providing affordable, convenient, and personalized care to patients with all types of pain. Currently, the clinic serves chronic pain, spinal, and orthopedic patients and other non-pain-related specialties. However, the addition of gastrointestinal surgical services can advance healthcare solutions and the reach of PPOA across Central Florida.

Right now, there are only a handful of established gastroenterologists in the Hillsborough County region. This small number of specialists limits care availability and gives many regional patients few options for traveling to their preferred clinic. We hope to bring in patients who have nowhere else to go for their gastrointestinal and pain issues by adding these services.

“With over 60 million Americans suffering from digestive diseases nationwide,” says Josh Helms, PPOA’s Chief Operating Officer, “These services are guaranteed to make an immediate impact on the local Sun City community and patients throughout Florida.”

As part of Florida’s substantial geriatric market, gastrointestinal care is essential for holistic healthcare. Patients are at higher risk for gastrointestinal issues than other patients, ranging from problems swallowing to celiac disease and esophageal issues.

Founded in 2013 by a physician-turned-entrepreneur, Physician Partners of America aims to offer patients a safe, seamless healthcare experience. Our company grew from just three employees and one clinic in 2013 to more than 500 employees and nearly 30 locations in 2018. We offer pain management, orthopedics, minimally invasive laser spine surgery, and AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery centers.

PharmaRebates® Captures New Revenue for Cash Starved Hospitals and Cancer Centers

PharmaRebates®

Rourke Smith, co-founder of PharmaRebates said “More than half of specialty drugs and injectable medications administered to patients are eligible for rebates. Yet, most providers are not currently collecting these manufacturer rebates.”

Most hospitals and other healthcare providers are missing a significant and reliable source of new revenue from financial rebates that are available for brand and specialty drugs administered to patients. PharmaRebates has announced an expansion of its service that uses proprietary software and business relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers to assist healthcare providers in capturing this new Rx rebate revenue. This revenue is in addition to any wholesaler rebates or GPO discounts that providers may already receive.

PharmaRebates is a national leader in prescription rebate management that helps healthcare providers find and collect Rx rebate revenue. Hospitals, infusion centers, specialty physician groups, long term care facilities, specialty pharmacies, and other healthcare providers that administer drugs to patients are all eligible.

During a recent interview, Rourke Smith, co-founder of PharmaRebates said “More than half of specialty drugs and injectable medications administered to patients are eligible for rebates. Yet, most providers are not currently collecting these. Typically, most providers are not even aware these rebates exist and if even they are aware, they do not know how or have the ability to collect them. There are approximately 1,600 different drugs that offer rebates today. These drugs and the rebate amounts paid are constantly changing and the data required to collect the rebates is often hidden deep in electronic medical records or claims files. PharmaRebates has the technology to extract this data and collect these rebates from the manufacturers on the providers behalf.”

Jon Derek, also a co-founder says, “PharmaRebates is a revenue-driven organization. We have a dedicated focus to assist providers to capture rebates they are entitled to. This enables us to find, collect and pay these rebates. We enjoy some of the most valuable pharma business relationships in the industry, he added.”

Implementing Rx rebate management with PharmaRebates is easy, and FREE:

  • There is no change and no interference with current pharma relationships or contracts with drug wholesalers, GPOs or insurers.
  • There are no upfront costs. Fees come directly from the rebates collected.
  • To prove its value, PharmaRebates analyzes the drugs dispensed by the provider and produces a report that shows exactly the rebates that have gone uncollected prior to contracting with the provider. This analysis is free of charge and no commitment is necessary.
  • Once operational, there is no interference in the provider’s day-to-day operations.
  • PharmaRebates receives and analyzes the provider’s prescription drug data, reports it to its pharmaceutical company partners, collects rebates and sends quarterly payments to its healthcare clients.
  • More than $200M in pharma rebates collected to date.

About PharmaRebates

PharmaRebates, headquartered in Miami, FL, is focused on addressing missed revenue and helping institutional healthcare providers receive the pharmaceutical rebates they are entitled to. Since 2018 more than $200 million in rebate revenue has been collected for clients.

Intelligent.com Survey Shows 34 Percent of White College Applicants Admit to Misrepresenting Their Race on Applications

SEATTLE, WA– Intelligent.com, a trusted resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning, has published findings from a survey that examines the rate of race misrepresentation on college applications. Research experts analyzed responses from 1,250 White American college applicants.

The survey shows that 34 percent of White American applicants admit they claimed a different race on their college applications. Forty-eight percent of respondents say they identified themselves as Native American during the application process. Comparably, 13 percent of respondents claimed to be Latino, 10 percent claimed to be Black, and 9 percent claimed to be Asian or Pacific Islander. Men were three times as likely as women to lie about their race on a college application. Forty-eight percent of male respondents claimed to be a minority on their college application, compared to just 16% of female applicants.

Data results indicate that the misrepresentation of race also varies by age. Forty-three percent of college students 35-44 years old and 41 percent of students 16–24 years old say they lied about their racial identity. Falsification is lower among people aged 25-34, with only 31 percent admitting to lying about their race. Twenty-eight percent of students aged 45 to 54 say they did not tell the truth about race, and only 13 percent of respondents aged 54 and older admit to claiming another race.

According to the study, 81 percent of respondents say they lied about their minority status to increase their chances of being accepted to a college or university. Fifty percent of applicants also say they claimed to be another race to qualify for minority-focused financial aid. Of the 77 percent of students who lied and gained admission, 85 percent believe that falsifying information on their applications helped them.

Intelligent.com created and paid for this study, which was administered via the online survey platform Pollfish. On July 13, 2021, the survey was distributed to 1,250 white college applicants ages 16 and older across the United States, and appropriate respondents were found via a screening question. Small Door announces expansion of reimagined veterinary care with three new NYC locations

Small Door Veterinary, a tech-enabled, hospitality-driven veterinary care provider, today announces three additional locations in New York City. In the coming months, Small Door will open new locations in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (118 N. 4th Street), Gramercy (380 2nd Avenue) and the Upper West Side (667 Columbus Avenue). Most recently, in August 2021, Small Door opened its second practice on the Upper East Side (1231 3rd Avenue).

Small Door’s membership-based model of care reimagines the outdated veterinary product providing a long overdue update from a one-size-fits-all approach to a more personalized offering with two membership plan options, both delivering newfound transparency.

A universal plan offers access to Small Door’s promise of exceptional and transparent veterinary care – increased access and clear explanations behind all services and bills. This plan also includes unlimited 24/7 telemedicine, which more than 50% of Small Door members use every month to address questions and concerns.

For people who want to take the guesswork out of best-in-class preventative care for their pets, there is a more comprehensive option called Premium Plus that covers everything from wellness exams, screenings, blood panels and preventatives, in addition to the 24/7 telemedicine that all Small Door members receive.

“We’ve learned that our members want both peace of mind and reassurance that they are making the right choices for their pets and our model provides that sense of confidence and understanding. We are looking forward to expanding our new standard of care to a broader community of pets and their people within New York City,” says Small Door co-founder Josh Guttman.

Small Door’s commitment to elevating the standards in veterinary care is supported by the company’s esteemed group of advisors and directors from the healthcare space, including Tom Lee, founder of One Medical Group, Nedal Shami, co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of CityMD, and Richard Park, founding CEO of CityMD.

About Small Door

Small Door offers membership-based veterinary care designed with human standards that are better for pets, pet parents, and veterinarians. In early 2020, co-founders Josh Guttman and Florent Peyre opened Small Door’s first location in Manhattan’s West Village with a mission to reimagine the outdated veterinary care model with a membership that includes exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing – delivered with hospitality in spaces designed to be stress-free.

The Meaningful Impact of Caregiving

News Image

Over the last 18 months, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is to extend a caring hand to those in our lives, especially older adults. And at a time when distance and safety measures kept many families apart, professional caregivers rose to the challenge to ensure our aging loved ones never lost this feeling of connection. Through these unprecedented circumstances caregivers have served as a pillar of strength in households and communities, offering compassionate care, companionship and even hope to older adults.

Like first responders tending to patients outside the home, caregivers act as in-home care heroes, providing much-needed support to the aging population and often serving the needs of others before themselves. And while the pandemic brought attention to the valuable role that caregivers play in our society, the demand for their services will only increase as this segment of the population continues to expand at a rapid pace.

According to a recent report from Home Instead and the Global Coalition on Aging, the number of adults 65 and older will more than double to 1.5 billion by 2050. As the number of older adults increases, we’ll need more passionate and selfless individuals to answer the call to join the caregiving workforce.

“Caregivers are essential to the fabric of our society, enabling our loved ones to age safely and with dignity in their own homes,” says Lakelyn Hogan, Ph.D., gerontologist and caregiver advocate at Home Instead. “Home Instead is committed to empowering this workforce and recognizing the significant impact they have on our communities, from bolstering training and education standards to rewarding the work they do. And we encourage others to do the same.”

People find themselves drawn to the caregiving profession for several reasons – from its rewarding nature to the ability to make a tangible difference in someone’s life each and every day. Regardless of what attracted them, each caregiver’s experience is deeply personal and unique. By hearing their real-life stories of these Home Instead CAREGivers, you can better understand why this is such a fulfilling career for so many.

  • Bill – South Carolina, six years as a caregiver and 2021 North American CAREGiver of the Year. Bill – Home Instead’s 2021 North American CAREGiver of the Year recipient – became a caregiver to gain experience working with seniors in pursuit of his dream to create a ministry for aging adults with his wife. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, Bill’s wife was diagnosed with cancer, and six months later, she passed away. Despite the change in his plans, Bill stayed with Home Instead where he quickly put his love for helping others into his clients and helping them continue doing the things they love in life. Bill’s very first client, who decided to pick up running after an early onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis, allowed him to do this. When his client’s condition worsened and he struggled to continue running, Bill would go on long walks with the client – nine miles a day, three days a week. Over time, Bill developed a great friendship with his client, and when the client passed, his wife asked Bill to be a pallbearer, to which he said he’d be honored. The wife responded, “Bill, you’ve carried him for the last four years. You should carry him one more time.”
  • Ruth – Iowa, four years as a caregiver. It was a long journey that led Ruth from working at her local grocery store to serving others as a caregiver. Her most memorable experience thus far was with a hospice client, a man whom she only saw twice. Their first meeting was filled with conversation on a variety of topics, including religion and heaven. Ruth’s next visit with this client would be the last. When the end was near, Ruth asked him to send her a sign when he made it to heaven. Four days after he passed, Ruth was at another client’s home when they handed her a surprise. “I was shocked to find a penny. Not just any penny, but the shiniest penny I’d ever seen. I felt goosebumps everywhere.” These goosebumps follow Ruth wherever she goes – whether through the overwhelming feeling of love she has for her career, or her clients whose lives she’s making a dramatically positive impact on.
  • Marilyn – Arizona, 16 years as a caregiver. It’s no surprise Marilyn landed in her role as a caregiver given her long history of caring for others. Along with being the oldest of her seven siblings, Marilyn is also the mother of five children and cared for both of her parents before they passed. One especially memorable moment Marilyn once shared with a client was when he suddenly began sharing his life story – speaking candidly about his time in the military service. “It all just came out,” Marilyn says. “Whatever was on his mind — and in his heart — he just needed to tell someone. So, I listened.” That part of being a caregiver is something Marilyn thinks is especially important: listening to the memories, stories and thoughts the client is entrusting you with.

Medicare Overseas? Everything You Need to Know —InternationalLiving.com

Puerto Viejo beach

Puerto Viejo beach

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is open for retirees. During the seven-and-a-half weeks from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, Medicare enrollees are allowed to select or alter their medical and prescription drug coverage for the entirety of the following year, with the changes taking effect on Jan. 1.

Given the frequent yearly changes in Medicare plans, this vital window gives retirees the chance to review the new rules and coverage options and amend their insurance in ways that could deliver significant savings.

Too commonly, however, Medicare beneficiaries are either unaware of this period or—quite understandably—confuse it with the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA-OEP), which takes place in the first quarter of each year and has a wholly different purpose.

It is vital retirees understand the difference between these two periods and what they are and aren’t allowed to do in each—particularly if they’re considering a move overseas.

So to help navigate this peculiar corner of the Medicare maze, International Living has published a report called Everything You Need to Know About Medicare Overseas—created by Ron Elledge, author of the book Medicare Made Easy.

With a few exceptions for emergency or urgent care, Medicare plans will cover enrollees only within the U.S. and its territories.

What happens, then, when retirees want to travel in retirement, take extended stays abroad, or move overseas full-time?

Should they maintain coverage—and if so, at what level? In his report, Everything You Need to Know About Medicare Overseas, Elledge details the answer and lays out a clear picture of how Medicare works.

“Everyone has their own healthcare strategy, particularly when they become an expat,” Elledge says. “But I believe everyone, including full-time expats, should enroll in Part A and Part B of Medicare as soon as they become eligible.

“Medicare is an endless maze of rules and regulations, but at its core, it is designed to cover as many people over 65 as possible. And there are at least 5 reasons why it makes sense for folks who want to travel extensively or even live abroad to stay enrolled in at least some parts of Medicare, no matter where you’re living.”

Everything You Need to Know About Medicare Overseas details those five reasons and also answers the most common questions retirees considering an overseas move ask:

The report lays out a clear picture of how Medicare works and then explores the nuances of it, as they relate to retirees interested in spending time overseas.

News Image

Keysight and Cynerio bring powerful medical device cyber insight to bear with regard to near real time identification of device risk and mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate that risk.

Cynerio, the leading provider of healthcare IoT cybersecurity, today announced that it has partnered with Keysight, a leader in automated security control solutions for Fortune 1000 enterprises and government organizations, to deliver an integrated set of network management and visibility solutions that enable real-time network visibility and automated security controls while minimizing core network switch infrastructure load for network operators and IT leaders.

Leveraging Keysight’s Taps and Packet Brokers technology, the partnership enables the Cynerio platform to have broad visibility of all devices communicating on the network and dynamically apply security policy to reduce a broad range of security risks. Keysight Network Packet Brokers are built with a system architecture that enables line rate performance with no dropped traffic or packet loss. The Keysight family of network tap products provide complete visibility into network traffic to help hospitals maintain optimal performance and security.

At the heart of the combined solution is Keysight’s intelligent traffic mirroring to ensure that:

  • All access to network resources and sensitive data is trusted and appropriate
  • All medical devices are accounted for and meet security standards
  • Violations and threats can be managed faster and with reduced IT intervention.

“Our customers are actively looking for ways to identify cyber risks on connected medical devices and provide actionable mitigation in hospital environments. This means taking recommended actions that preserve operations and protect sensitive data and patient safety,” said Leon Lerman, CEO and co-founder at Cynerio. “Keysight and Cynerio bring powerful medical device cyber insight to bear with regard to near real time identification of device risk and mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate that risk.”

The collaboration was formed under the auspices of Keysight’s and Cynerio’s partner ecosystems, which represent strategic integration partners and organizations committed to making cybersecurity for medical devices and network traffic more visible and enhancing the analytics, management and monitoring of the network to be more intelligent and efficient.

“Partnering with Cynerio allows us to provide our customers with world-class solutions,” said Bill Canter, Healthcare Alliances at Keysight. “By combining Keysight’s Packet Brokers and Taps that enables the forwarding and manipulation of network traffic with Cynerio, we can provide BioMed teams the ability to increase connectivity and maintain seamless network visibility, while sustaining a high-level of monitoring cyber risk on medical devices. Hospitals must support a wide variety of devices and network architectures while at the same time ensuring the cyber protection of medical devices.”
