New Mental Health Worksheet Collection From Supportiv Offers Accessible Self-Help During The National Therapist Shortage

Supportiv Worksheets Collection

Supportiv Worksheets Collection

Use a worksheet once if you just need a prompt for self-help. Or, use many in the collection in order to transform the thoughts, feelings, or habits that have caused you emotional distress.

Mental health resources often make a tradeoff between ease-of-use and efficacy. On one hand, the most easily accessible “quick fixes” typically focus on “band-aid” level coping with mental health issues. On the other hand, the most efficacious mental health solutions address the long-term healing process, but aren’t accessible in the form of a simple exercise or tool.

Coping skills are bite-sized solutions that help in the moment but don’t impact whether the issue occurs again. Healing has its challenges, too. It involves self-reflection and requires a commitment to constructing new habits. Healing is most often achieved through months of work in therapy–but that’s just not an affordable or available option for many, especially given the current national therapy provider shortage.

To bridge the gap between coping skills and healing, Supportiv (https://supportiv.com) presents a series of “healing tools,” in the form of printable worksheets. Curated from acclaimed self-help books and therapy concepts, these worksheets blend the best of coping and healing. They contain exercises, thought re-frames, and reflective questions that can both help in the moment, and also change unhelpful patterns more permanently. Worksheet topics in the newly published collection are available at https://www.supportiv.com/worksheets and include:

  • Spark Action On A Daunting Task

As Supportiv Co-Founder Pouria Mojabi explains: “Use a worksheet once if you just need a prompt for self-help. Or, use many in the collection in order to transform the thoughts, feelings, or habits that have caused you emotional distress.”

Helena Plater-Zyberk, Supportiv CEO and Co-Founder, elaborates, “These worksheets can help people not just cope with but also heal from long-term mental health struggles like: self-isolation, loneliness, zoning out, catastrophizing, trauma from past experiences, feeling stuck in behavior patterns, and more.”

Supportiv’s resource collection is an extension of its on-demand peer-to-peer chat service. CATMEDIA is Teaming with CDC on Multiple Public Health Projects

CATMEDIA Logo

Healthcare communication experts at CATMEDIA are working with CDC officials to tackle several public health issues

“We currently live in a time where communication has never been more critical,” said Ronetta Andrus, CATMEDIA senior vice president of operations and business affairs. “We’re extremely proud to work with CDC on developing these impactful and potentially life-saving messages.”

As one of the foremost leaders in health communication, CATMEDIA has been awarded multiple contracts allowing it to work with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) over the past two years. These contracts give the Atlanta-based company opportunities to assist CDC in raising awareness of several global public health threats.

“We are thrilled to provide our expertise to challenges of this magnitude,” said Catherine Downey, CATMEDIA founder & CEO. “Our team has long enjoyed a wonderful relationship with CDC, and we’re excited to be supporting them now on multiple national and global health initiatives.”

A national leader working with highly regulated clients, breaking down complex issues, and effectively communicating to a wide array of audiences, CATMEDIA is now partnering with CDC for health communication projects in the following areas:

Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System

The CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reports System (VAERS) is a national reporting system that helps find potential problems in U.S.-licensed vaccines. CATMEDIA has partnered with VAERS to create a video to define itself to the public, as well as videos that accomplish other tasks, such as educating healthcare providers on how to communicate more effectively with their patients using “empathetic conversations.”

Center for Preparedness and Response

CATMEDIA helped develop two creative and innovative video products for CDC’s Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR). These projects emphasized the importance and impact of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program on national preparedness and response efforts. The first video specifically highlighted the work of the PHEP-funded Career Epidemiology Field Officer (CEFO) as an example of the impact it had on the national PHEP program, while the second video highlighted how PHEP addresses health equity concerns and positively impacts underserved communities.

National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases

CATMEDIA is working with CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) to help tackle a global One Health issue: antibiotic resistance (AR). Communicating about AR as a One Health threat is complex because of the many industries and interests with which it has the potential to intersect, which requires knowledgeable and experienced communications, like that provided by CATMEDIA. The company has developed communications plans, social media graphics, and digital ad metrics analysis, among other services, for NCEZID.

Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support

CATMEDIA has also partnered with CDC’s Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support (STLTS), creating graphics that speak to underrepresented tribal and Alaskan groups for the center’s COVID-19 response unit. CATMEDIA has designed posters and graphics explaining COVID-19 vaccination guidelines for pregnant women and women who were considering pregnancy, and the company is currently working to adapt current vaccination messaging for adolescent audiences within the tribal community, such as the Digital Resources now on this CDC COVID-19 webpage.

Vaccine Task Force

CATMEDIA has continued to create new social media graphics for CDC’s Vaccine Task Force (VTF). These graphics were custom designed for the task force’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest accounts, promoting the evolving messaging concerning COVID-19 vaccine efficacy and safety. Topics include guidelines for vaccine brands and pre-existing health conditions related to vaccination.

“We currently live in a time where communication has never been more critical,” said Ronetta Andrus, CATMEDIA senior vice president of operations and business affairs. “We’re extremely proud to work with CDC on developing these impactful and potentially life-saving messages.”

#BurpeesForVets Set To Raise Funds

The #BurpeesForVets Challenge is designed to give everyone a clear way to get involved in supporting veterans this November. With $11 and 11 seconds anyone can be a part of this movement that is taking over the internet for our nation’s heroes.

One of the most difficult parts of military service is transitioning back into society. To complicate matters, Veteran aid organizations have struggled to raise funds during the Covid-19 pandemic, making transitions difficult for many.

The #BurpeesForVets challenge is a social media nomination challenge to fundraise and advocate for Veteran wellness through a network of veteran-focused NGO’s that offer programming in 3 key areas: mental wellness, workforce development and community building.

“The #BurpeesForVets Challenge is designed to give everyone a clear way to get involved in supporting veterans this November. With $11 and 11 seconds anyone can be a part of this movement that is taking over the internet for our nation’s heroes.” Mark Divine, former Navy SEAL Commander. Mark’s video is both a call to action and a demonstration of how easy it is to get involved.

Starting on November 1st and going the full month of November, the campaign has 3 key components:

  • Donate $11 to the Veterans transition fund – a 501(c)3 administered by Legacy Global
  • Post a video on social media doing as many burpees as you can in 11 seconds
  • Nominate 3 people to complete the challenge during the month of November

This construct is similar to the highly successful ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

100% of the funds donated (after credit card processing fees) go to the benefitting non-profits. The official website, BurpeesForVets.com, is where people can get involved/take action. It provides further details, makes donating easy and provides tips on how to share your video and nominate others.

The effort has strong support among the following: Fitness community groups like Spartan Racing, Ten Thousand activating their roster of fitness influencers, Onward2Opportunity engaging their alumni network, and brands like Hyperice and BetterHelp providing donor incentives, all are stepping up to drive this movement forward for the military community.

On Veterans Day this campaign is featuring a 5-hour invitational SEALFIT event on Veterans Day to promote the challenge and raise funds with a goal of $100,000. Participants include influencers, professional athletes, CrossFitters, MMA fighters, Veterans and thought leaders.

This campaign is meant to represent the future of veteran support, empowering them with tools they need to successfully transition.

ABOUT BURPEESFORVETS

Originally started in 2019 by former Navy SEAL Commander Mark Divine, #BurpeesForVets set a series of records while fundraising for veteran mental health programming via The Courage Foundation. In collaboration with For Purpose, this campaign has grown to provide a clear and meaningful way for people to get involved in supporting veterans this November through a social media nomination challenge.

Smartlink Health Announces the Launch of SiteClear Vaccine Registry

With the OSHA ETS looming, employers across the country need an easy way to track compliance and get out in front of this mandate…

Smartlink Health Solutions, a leading provider of proactive health and wellness management solutions, today announced the launch of SiteClear™Vaccine Registry, a solution that helps employers comply with new OSHA rules expected to be released in the coming days. With SiteClear, employers can track COVID-19 vaccination status, manage exemption requests, and monitor weekly COVID testing.

In September, the Biden Administration announced its COVID-19 Action Plan, the “Path Out of The Pandemic”. At the center of the plan is a directive for the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to develop a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or tested once a week. The OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to implement this requirement is anticipated to be released in the coming days, and will impact an estimated 80 million Americans. A similar mandate is already in place for Federal contractors, who are required to be vaccinated by December 8th.

“With the OSHA ETS looming, employers across the country need an easy way to track compliance and get out in front of this mandate,” said Siu Tong, PhD, CEO and founder of Smartlink Health Solutions. “SiteClear automates the most time-consuming aspects of managing a vaccination and testing program, minimizing the potential administrative burden and protecting employers from potentially hefty fines.”

The SiteClear Vaccine Registry is offered stand-alone or as part of the SiteClear Enterprise solution, which also includes symptom tracking, contact tracing, and electronic lab ordering and results delivery. Visit https://www.smartlinkhealth.com/siteclear-vaccine-registry/ to register for a product demonstration, or email info@smartlinkhealth.com for additional information.

VisitorsCoverage Advises Travelers as International Border Re-openings Strain Travel Industry

Travelers crowding baggage claim at airport.

It would be unrealistic to assume that international travel will return to normal immediately after a year and a half of closed borders.

VisitorsCoverage, a global travel insurance marketplace, advised travelers that beginning in November, they should expect overbookings, flight cancelations and delays, long lines at the airport, and more due to the upcoming surge in demand for both domestic and international travel.

“The Biden administration’s decision to lift the ban on international travel is welcomed and long-awaited by travelers and the industry alike,” said Rajeev Shrivastava, CEO of VisitorsCoverage. “It’s also a strong indicator that the global efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 are working. However, it would be unrealistic to assume that international travel will return to normal immediately after a year and a half of closed borders.”

International Holiday Travel in 2021 Likely to Be More Stressful

As a general rule there are many uncertainties when it comes to international holiday travel, but this year in particular, travelers face even more unpredictability.

In fact, the day after the Biden administration set a reopening date, Skyscanner, a travel booking site, recorded an 800% surge in reservations. The sudden influx of international travelers coupled with industry-wide staffing shortages will put stress on the entire travel infrastructure, from Airline CEOs to rideshare drivers. This will create additional frustrations for travelers, but careful planning can reduce this stress.

While travelers race to schedule flights, some airlines are already experiencing wide-spread delays and cancelations. Hotel bookings and vacation home rentals are on the rise. The sudden surge in demand for everything from tourist visas to food at the airport means shortages, long lines, and overbookings for international holiday travelers. As airlines and hotels grapple with limited staff, common travel challenges like weather-related delays and cancellations will cause even more stress for travelers.

Travelers Can Reduce Their Travel Anxiety

These challenges shouldn’t deter travelers from international travel; it just means that they should use extra caution.

“With so much beyond travelers’ control today, the best recourse is to focus on what can be controlled,” adds Shrivastava. “The key to traveling during the busy holiday period will be for travelers to carefully plan trips in advance, set realistic expectations and find ways to manage their travel anxiety.”

Plan for the Unexpected

One of the best practical tools for reducing travel stress is trip insurance. Trip insurance with Cancel For Any Reason coverage can limit financial impact if flights are canceled or delayed, baggage is lost or damaged, or travelers simply do not wish to stand in long lines with no social distancing as they wait in the airport for everything from security and COVID-19 vaccination checks to flight information and fast food options.

Get Covered for Medical Emergencies

Travel medical insurance can give travelers a peace of mind that lasts throughout the entire trip. Depending on your destination, a suitable travel medical insurance policy may even be required. For those traveling to the United States, travel medical insurance may not be mandatory, but is still recommended as medical costs in the U.S. are high. If travelers incur an injury or contract an illness like COVID-19 while abroad, a comprehensive travel medical plan can help defray these costs.
