Ziosoft, a pioneer in 3D/4D AI medical visualization, will highlight its virtual surgical visualization solutions at the annual American College of Surgeons (ACS) conference being held October 16-20, 2022 in San Diego, California. The company will showcase software tools, such as lung and liver segmentation, to help enable efficient surgical planning analysis.
“Ziosoft’s segmentation analysis software provides extensive capabilities for surgical planning,” said Rajeev Taitriya, vice president of marketing and business development for Ziosoft. “These analytical tools assist surgeons to see and think in 3D, crossing the bridge between the gap of diagnostic readers to the operating table. It also can help decrease operative times while improving surgical outcomes.”
Several features of the Ziostation2 system software assist to enable these advantages. These include allowing for an anatomical map prior to the operating procedure, which can lead to reduced time under anesthesia, and determining if the patient is a good candidate for a particular surgical approach. It also helps eliminate “investigative surgery,” as well as allowing for Rapid Prototypes to be printed for actual 3D planning, going beyond the screen of virtual 2D visualization.
For example, Ziosoft’s CT lung resection planning offers high precision automatic segmentation of the lungs, lung lobes, bronchi, pulmonary arteries and veins, enabling lung resection proposals based on bronchial or arterial anatomy. For CT liver analysis, the protocol is used to segment image masks of the hepatic artery, portal vein and hepatic vein using data of the liver scanned with a contrast material and measure the volumes including liver segments and lesions.
“Our software is designed to help streamline planning and provide outstanding image quality,” said Taitriya. “The goal is to enhance workflow and reduce unnecessary procedures, while enabling better patient outcomes. We believe it can be invaluable in the surgical environment for optimizing excellence in patient care.”
The Ziosoft platform also offers its unique PhyZiodynamics 3D/4D solution, as well as the recently introduced Zioflex, a monthly subscription program designed to provide a risk free introduction of Ziosoft’s many AV clinical applications. The software is vendor neutral and can be compatible with the clinician’s existing hardware, hence mitigating the need for expensive capital outlays.
