Mr. Alapati, who replaces former CEO Kenneth MacWilliams, has been a member of the YES technical advisory board for the past two years and chairman of its board of directors since January 2020. He brings extensive executive experience to YES from his leadership roles at PsiQuantum, a quantum computing company where he oversaw engineering and operations; at Amkor Technology, where he led technology strategy and roadmaps; at GlobalFoundries, where he led the packaging product management and R&D; and at Micron Technology, where he focused on developing and commercializing double patterning & TSV technologies.
“Rama’s hands-on experiences in Advanced Packaging as well as his deep relationships with YES’s customers, partners and research consortia will be of immense benefit as we focus on delivering committed products and improvements, building new products and developing new applications to add value to our customers’ operations. Mr. Alapati has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from University of Kansas, a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Osmania University in India, and executive education from Harvard. He holds over 30 patents.
