Yankee Magazine Earns 11 Nominations in the City and Regional Magazine Association’s National Awards Competition

The City and Regional Magazine Association and The Missouri School of Journalism announced the finalists in the 36-year-old CRMA Awards this week, with New England-based Yankee magazine earning eleven nominations in ten different categories.

Yankee is among the top finalists, with others including 5280, Boston Magazine, D Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, Portland Monthly, Seattle Met, St. Louis Magazine, and Texas Monthly in receiving double-digit nominations.

“We do this work because we enjoy seeing ideas become stories. When we hear back from readers, that feels like recognition enough. But knowing that our colleagues in the publishing world think highly of the work is even more gratifying,” said Yankee editor Mel Allen. “Being nominated for a finalist in 10 categories for 11 separate entries makes me proud of the entire Yankee team.”

Magazines of varying circulations competed in 35 categories, including editorial, design, online, multiplatform storytelling and general excellence. More than 100 magazine professionals from across the country selected five finalists in each category and will soon choose one ultimate winner in each.
