SEONGNAM, South Korea (PRWEB)
January 15, 2021
XAOS Motors which is the company developing Automotive OS announced that they participated at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2021 with AI MEMS LiDAR XCAT PRO. XCAT LiDAR for Autonomous Vehicles has applied the technology ‘A LIDAR system corresponding to artificial intelligence’ that is registered in a Korean patent in 2020.
MEMS LiDAR XCAT has a competitive advantage that can change the main specifications of the LiDAR by just software. It changes scan angle, resolution, and optimal scan distance without modifying hardware and other parts. Furthermore, using a scanning algorithm corresponding to artificial intelligence, it is possible to scan and trace objects intensively when a dangerous object is found while scanning a complete range in normal situations.
About LiDAR
Lidar is a 3D vision sensor that can detect the position, shape, and speed of obstacles around the vehicle in real time through transmission and reception of emitted light. Unlike radars and cameras that are already used in many vehicles, LiDAR is in the middle of introducing vehicles and has not appeared yet by standardized products. According to professional market analysis organization’s reports, the LiDAR sensor market is expected to grow to $12 billion in 2030, and will grow to $20 billion including flash LiDAR.
XAOS Motors can quickly support the requirements of companies developing autonomous driving systems and ADAS through XCAT VIEW, a 3D VISION software for LiDAR. In addition, it has also registered in a Korean patent for the “LED headlamp-linked automotive lidar system,” a technology patent for Flash lidar, a product to be developed, and applied for PCT and US applications. In the future, it said that it will develop a Domain Control Unit (DCU) to which the integrated control technology of the autonomous driving sensor unit is applied.
XAOS Motors finally gets ready to produce XCAT PRO and has a plan to get global B2B partners after the CES 2021 exhibition. The Vice President of XAOS Motors, Keon-Young Lee, said “After the launch of prototype XCAT PRO in June, 2020, we have received inquiries for supply of products and technology development cooperation from home and abroad such as automobile manufacturers, electronics, robotics, and autonomous driving service companies.” He continuously said “From january, 2021, when the team of production and technical support are organized, we will begin to supply products to clients around the world.”
In addition, XAOS Motors announced that they exhibit a single version of EV platform TRIPLUX that controls the drive domain of EVs. TRIPLUX-S In-Wheel Motor is integrated with driving, regeneration, and charging, which are the main functions of EV, in a single motor. TRIPLUX is a distributed control driving module based on DCU(Domain Control Unit) that integrates dozens or hundreds of existing automotive ECUs. TRIPLUX is based on 4th generation design of EV drive domain, and has not yet been applied to mass-produced vehicles, but it is suitable not only for EV but also for autonomous driving systems.
XAOS Motors reports that they applied for various patents for the drive domain control core technology such as ‘regenerative braking driver by a motor’, ‘integrated DCU with drive, regeneration, and charging’, and ‘intelligent multi-charging driver’. The Vice President of XAOS Motors, Keon-Young Lee, said “we made the next generation driving method that minimizes power loss via the TRIPLUX distributed control system.” Also he explained “By minimizing auto parts, it is possible to reduce the manufacturing costs of EV and its warranty service costs by up to 25% as compared to before.” XAOS Motors is expected to release a prototype of TRIPLUX-S in the first quarter of 2021.
About XAOS Motors
XAOS Motors is an IT company that provides Digital Automotive OS. The key to the next technological innovation that leads the automotive industry is the full digitalization from analog to digital. That is to say, the hardware control technology will be integrated into a single intelligence system. XAOS Motors has revealed a hardware control system that responds to artificial intelligence based on its own research and development. We completed the R&D of TRIPLUX, an integrated platform for EV driving domain, and launched MEMS LiDAR XCAT, an optimized autonomous driving solution for EVs. In addition, we designed the core technology of Flash LiDAR, also called 3D Camera. Moreover, we have completed Korean patent registration, PCT application, and US patent application as well.
