Women’s Health USA, a leading provider of value-based care and practice management services company in the women’s health sector, announced today the addition of nationally-recognized health care advisor, Jonathon W. Bunker (Jon) to its team as a Senior Vice President. The association with Bunker comes on the heels of its new partnership agreement with Las Vegas-based Women’s Health Associates of Southern Nevada (WHASN), one of the pre-eminent ObGyn groups in Nevada. The addition of Mr. Bunker reinforces Women’s Health USA’s efforts to develop women’s health, value-based programs, in Nevada and its other geographies nationally.
A Nevada native, Mr. Bunker has more than 30 years’ experience in the health care industry, most recently with developing value-based population health and global risk programs on the provider side while at OptumCare. “I’m excited to assist Women’s Health with the advancement of a more cohesive, personal, and superior clinical experience in the delicate women’s health arena. Nevada is a fast-growing market and is already one of the most innovative population health markets in the U.S. so there’s high potential. Programs like these are needed to overcome the fragmented and impersonal healthcare that has led to poor clinical outcomes and cost excess, particularly in women’s health services.”
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Jon’s caliber join our team, and I personally look forward to partnering with him as we continue to architect a new paradigm in women’s health – from volume to value,” said Goran Dragolovic, CEO of Women’s Health USA. “Obstetrics in particular, and women’s health in general, represent some of the greatest opportunities both within Medicaid and the commercial sector for a more disruptive, innovative, and effective delivery model. I can’t think of anyone more appropriate than Jon to lend experience to this effort.”
Prior to his tenure at Optum which began in 2012, Jon served as interim Chief Executive Officer for Sierra Health Services as it transitioned to UnitedHealthcare. While at Sierra Health Services, Jon also served as COO and President as well as other positions over a 20-year span with the company.
