William Shatner Wants You to “Love Your Ears” and is Giving Away Free Hearing Aids to Those in Need

William Shatner has teamed up with HearingLife

“My hearing has been instrumental in living my life to the fullest. Whether it’s being on set, visiting outer space, or spending time on my ranch with my horses and loved ones, I’ve relied on my hearing to fully enjoy those experiences. Don’t miss out on life’s special moments due to hearing loss.”

HearingLife, a leader in delivering life-changing, personalized hearing care, today announced the kickoff of its “Love Your Ears” give back campaign, in partnership with iconic actor, author, producer, director, musician and spokesperson, William Shatner, to celebrate Better Hearing and Speech Month this May. The effort seeks to help individuals with hearing loss gain back the joyful sounds they may be missing out on by giving free hearing aids to those in need and by providing education on the importance of hearing care. This is an especially pivotal time for people to focus on their hearing health, as hearing loss in the United States is expected to double to 73M by 2060.*

Hearing loss can prevent people from experiencing all the wonderful joys of life, yet only 1 in 5 people who would benefit from a hearing aid use one.** With hearing aids, people with hearing loss can hear life’s special moments and connect with friends and family again. Hearing is key to staying connected to experiences and relationships that bring joy, which is why starting today, May 2, 2023 through June 16, 2023, William Shatner is encouraging anyone in the United States to submit their story or nominate a loved one at http://www.HearingLife.com/GiveBack for a chance to receive free hearing aids.+

“Love your ears by caring for them,” said William Shatner.

If you love your ears and treat your hearing loss, you should be able to reconnect to the people and things you love, and you may reduce other potential health risks. Research shows a connection between untreated hearing loss and depression, mental fatigue, reduced cognitive ability and possibly dementia. In fact, people with untreated hearing loss may have 2-3 times greater risk of developing dementia.***

Hearing health is as essential as other key areas of self-care, which is why HearingLife recommends all adults, particularly those aged 55+, receive regular hearing assessments as part of their annual health routine and checkups.

“Our Love Your Ears give back program will provide people the opportunity to live life to the fullest,” said Dean Pappous, President of HearingLife. “By improving just one person’s hearing loss, we are touching the lives of many by helping them remain connected to those who matter most.”

William Shatner is helping to give away free hearing aids this month to those who may not be able to afford them. For the opportunity to receive free hearing aids through “Love Your Ears,” anyone in the US can submit their personal story, or nominate a loved one, explaining how receiving hearing aids could make a difference in the quality of their life.
