Today, W.S. Darley & Co. announced they are partnering with Homethrive, a family elder care coordinator, to offer their employees a fully-covered family caregiver service as part of the company’s broader benefits package. Homethrive will be offered to all employees starting immediately. Through Homethrive, company employees will have access to Care Guides assigned to each family who provides coaching and concierge services for aging loved ones living at home, reducing employee caregiving effort and stress. Offering a family caregiving benefit is part of W.S Darley & Co’s larger commitment to empower and recognize their employees by providing them resources to achieve their full career potential. W.S Darley & Co. is a family-owned business that strives to create a culture and environment where employees are treated as if they were family.

Family care obligations affect most adults throughout their careers. According to AARP*, at least 42 percent of adults provide caregiving support to at least one parent. 60 percent of these caregivers reported that their caregiving responsibilities have affected their work. The impact of caregiving responsibilities has the potential to cause employees to suffer personal health issues, not fully achieve their potential in the workplace, lose productivity, or possibly end a successful career early.

“At W.S. Darley & Co. we pride ourselves in our benefits package offered to our employees. When Homethrive presented a caregiving benefit that would help employees and their families this decision was a no brainer. Our partnership with Homethrive has been amazing. The Homethrive team is passionate, knowledgeable, and professional. We are happy to offer this unique benefit to our employees and to partner with the team at Homethrive,” says Kara Paleothodoros, HR Manager, W.S. Darley & Co.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with W.S. Darley & Co. to offer a caregiving benefit to help support their employees who are family caregivers,” says David Greenberg Co-founder & Co-CEO at Homethrive. “The W.S. Darley & Co. team does an amazing job supporting first responders and emergency management professionals with the equipment they need to take care of others in distress. It’s our honor to offer a service to help take care of them by easing the stress of caregiving.”

Homethrive works by matching each employee with a Care Guide that serves as a family coach. Care Guides work with employees to learn about their loved one, identify home safety opportunities, achieve goals, as well as recommend and arrange services to help the employee shoulder the burden of caregiving.
