VR AR Research Institute started VR training platform for surgeons

VR AR Research Institute(headquartered in San Francisco, CA, CEO: Thomas Kobayashi and CTO: Michitomo Nakahara) started a VR training platform for surgeons.

In addition, Ramsekar, former COO and co-founder of Kaleidozone, a leader in the Indian VR market since 2016, has joined Potlatch, Inc. as a product leader. Kaleidozone has over 26 arcade game locations in India. Ramsekar has led the development of more than a dozen VR training programs, including cataract surgery, and will drive our medical VR training business. The VR surgical training area is attracting more attention than ever, with Osso VR in the US raising $110m, Fundamental VR in the UK raising $29m, and Imacreate in Japan raising $1.4 million.

Reasons for this high demand are the high cost of learning in surgical training, which requires cadavers, and specialized spaces as well as the difficulty of face-to-face learning in remote work, which has led to a growing demand for VR training that allows users to learn as often as they like at their own pace. We will pursue joint research with universities and medical institutions.

Ramsekar, Product Lead, commented “I am excited to join such a talented and innovative team, where we have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the healthcare industry through our VR surgical training programs. We aim to transform some of the challenges in the traditional medical training methods, such as the need for specialized equipment, time and space using VR training.”
