Dr. Timothy Hain, MD – neurotologist, Director of the Chicago Dizziness and Hearing Clinic, and professor emeritus at Northwestern University – recently announced that he is stepping down from his position on the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA)’s Medical & Scientific Advisory Board after over 35 years of service.
VeDA recognizes Dr. Hain as a Lifetime Trustee and champion of the vestibular community.
Dr. Hain is known as the “dizzy doctor” and sees a large array of patients with common inner ear disorders, as well as more obscure and complex problems. “For example,” says Dr. Hain, “did you know that some people can develop ‘land sickness’ after a cruise that can last for years? Or that dizziness with migraine is most common in the 50-60 age group, mainly women who are perimenopausal?”
In addition to his clinical and research work in the field of vestibular disorders, Dr. Hain’s website, https://www.dizziness-and-balance.com, has educated thousands of patients and healthcare providers. One of his greatest contributions to the field of vestibular medicine, this resource takes Dr. Hain’s vast expertise and personal experience and shares it freely. Dr. Hain has been selected as one of the Best Doctors in America on numerous occasions and is also featured yearly in the Top Doctors in Chicago by Chicago Magazine.
ABOUT VeDA: VeDA is the leading international organization for information about vestibular (inner ear and brain) disorders. VeDA supports people with vestibular disorders by connecting them to health care specialists and support networks, and promotes awareness of the vestibular patient experience. For many years, Dr. Hain has been a lifeline for vestibular patients who have been previously undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, or told that their symptoms were “all in their head.”
