In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Validation Institute announced sessions related to the topic at its upcoming Benefit Design Strategies for Employers event, which takes place June 20-22, at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.
Sessions that address mental health awareness and treatment at Benefit Design Strategies for Employers include:
-
Keynote: Progress Report on Solving the Nation’s Mental and Behavioral Health Crisis: Where Are We Today and Where Do We Go from Here? - The Impact of Prior Trauma on Mental Health Within and Outside the Workplace: Barriers and Opportunities for Healthcare Stakeholders
- Affordable, Impactful, Inclusive Benefits to Meet the Needs of a Diverse Workforce
“The once-in-a-century pandemic, which just officially ended, has left mental and physical depletion in its wake. Employers must recognize those trailing results and seek to provide more support for the mental health needs of their workers as well as the need to provide an additional level of flexibility,” said Anthony D. Kinslow, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Georgetown University, who will be speaking at the conference next month. “It is also important to re-establish in-person organizational norms such as service awards or bring your child to work day to rebuild a sense of community. Work is not only a place to accomplish tasks but is also a place where friendships are built and colleagues collaborate on important initiatives that instill pride and belonging,” continued Kinslow.
“I think that everybody is well aware of the challenges the pandemic brought forth when it comes to mental and behavioral health,” said Vekonda Luangaphay, Content Manager at Validation Institute. “If there is one positive outcome we can point to though, it is that this topic is openly discussed like never before. We are proud to present several discussions which tackle mental and behavioral health head-on while spotlighting healthcare industry’s tremendous efforts to address the crisis.”
Featured organizations delivering these sessions include: Citi, Holmes Murphy and Associates, Community Behavioral Health, Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness (ABHW), Prudential Financial, Hendry Marine Industries, Health Transformation Alliance, ARC Fertility, Xerox, and the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions.
Benefit Design Strategies for Employers is co-located with The Healthcare Innovation Congress, thINc360. Registrants can attend sessions at both events at no additional cost.
