Tripp Lite, a global manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, makes it easy to ensure cabling infrastructure is ready for upgrades to 8K equipment and content.
Tripp Lite’s new Ultra High-Speed 8K HDMI cables support all HDMI 2.1 specifications for enriched features. The cables support video resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz and bandwidth up to 48 Gbps, which is nearly three times the bandwidth of cables supporting HDMI 2.0 specifications. Although the cables are designed to carry 8K signals, they are backward compatible with existing HDMI equipment, such as 4K televisions and gaming consoles.
The 8K HDMI cables support advanced features, including Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), which passes full-resolution surround sound signals to speakers without compression. For a seamless viewing experience without latency, the cables support Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Media Switching (QMS) and Quick Frame Transport (QFT).
“As video technology ultimately moves toward 8K, there will be an increased demand for HDMI cables that can meet the bandwidth requirements of the new equipment,” said David Posner, Vice President of Product Marketing, Connectivity. “Customers can prepare for the transition now by incorporating 8K cables into home theater systems, gaming setups and professional digital signage installations.”
