Recently the USPS announced its 2020 promotions and incentives that are designed to give marketers the opportunity to innovate their mail pieces. Here is the promotion description direct from the USPS.
Emerging and Advanced Technology Promotion:
The use of technology is a proven force in the marketing landscape for today’s savvy marketing professionals. This promotion will build upon previous promotions and continue our strategy of encouraging mailers to integrate direct mail with advances in technology.
To participate in the promotion, the mail piece must incorporate any of the following technologies: NFC technology, Video in Print (ViP), an “enhanced’ augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, Integration with Voice Assistants, and Digital to Direct Mail. These technologies will allow the recipient to engage in an interactive experience using the mail piece and mobile devices, tablets, etc.
Because of the inclusion of Voice Assistance, marketers can take advantage of this promotion by including a VACTA into their next campaign. A VACTA allows consumers to respond to direct mail offers by using any Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device. Response through smart speakers gives consumers a convenient and quick way to engage with brands. Setting up a VACTA is seamless with the Respond Fast dashboard where marketers can manage, track, and optimize a campaign – all while getting accurate attribution.
About Respond Fast
Respond Fast is part of Respond Now LLC, founded in 2018 to create the first Voice Activated Call To Action (VACTA) technology that uses smart speakers to respond to offline media campaigns deploying direct mail, TV/radio spots, print ads, collateral, TV/radio spots, billboards, signage and product label/packaging. Consumers simply ask their smart speakers to redeem an offer, download an app, respond to a survey, or speak with a salesperson. The company was founded by direct response marketing veteran Mike Gunderson.
