It’s been a crazy year, but we have been fortunate, and we want to share that with others.

The compassionate periodontists and team at Advanced Periodontics and Dental Implant Center of Connecticut recently held a food drive to support their local Monroe, CT community during the holidays. All items collected were donated to the Monroe Food Pantry. The team at Advanced Periodontics offers minimally invasive, industry-leading care in Monroe CT including gum disease treatment and dental implants.
The Monroe Food Pantry’s mission is to provide nutritional assistance to those in Monroe, CT who are struggling financially, in a manner that ensures and protects the dignity and confidentiality of the recipients. They provide one week’s worth of emergency food assistance for needy individuals per month. They are able to serve over 200 families a year all due to the help of the compassionate residents of Monroe.
Drs. Richard Amato and Michael Kang, as well as the team at Advanced Periodontics, made it easy for their community to donate to the food pantry. Instead of making an appointment to drop off food at the pantry, patients and non-patients alike were able to donate non-perishable food items at Advanced Periodontics’ office. The staff delivered all collected items in time for families to receive the food for Christmas. They collected items in November as well, providing Thanksgiving dinners to families in need throughout Monroe, CT.
“It’s been a crazy year, but we have been fortunate, and we want to share that with others,” says periodontist, Dr. Amato.
The compassion and care that these periodontists share for their community extends past local charity and into their everyday practice. They strive to provide the absolute best treatment options available in the industry, backed by state-of-the-art technology.
Using their expertise and training, Drs. Amato and Kang provide the highly advanced LANAP® laser gum disease treatment. With this minimally invasive laser dentistry treatment, the periodontists can eradicate unhealthy and diseased gum tissue while simultaneously regenerating healthy gum tissue. Patients of Drs. Amato and Kang who have received this treatment experienced little to no pain during treatment and a quick recovery.
Advanced Periodontics also offers the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique, a minimally invasive way to reverse the issue of gum recession caused by advanced gum disease. When gum disease results in tooth loss, the periodontists can provide stable, long-lasting dental implants. Dental implants help restore a smile to its natural look and function. With dental implants, patients gain a new sense of confidence and can eat a balanced diet without pain or discomfort.
