RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association will recognize National Infertility Awareness Week®, April 23 through April 29, 2023. The movement brings together millions of Americans who want to remove the stigmas and barriers that stand in the way of building families. RESOLVE will rally the infertility community to raise awareness about the significant lack of access to family building options and emotional support for millions of women and men struggling to build a family. #FindYourVoice will be a message found on the official NIAW website and throughout RESOLVE’s social media campaigns.
“Millions of people face barriers to building a family whether they are facing infertility, having trouble sustaining a pregnancy, or people in the LGBTQ+ community. The barriers include access to care, financial limitations, and even proposed legislation and policies which could make it impossible to access family building options like IVF. We encourage those who struggle to build a family to use our resources and find their voice,” said Barbara Collura, RESOLVE’s President/CEO. “Let’s use NIAW to raise our voices, talk about the issues too many of us face, and ensure we continue supporting those most in need.”
Throughout NIAW, the infertility and family building community will take to social media and share their stories in different ways through RESOLVE’s 5-Day Challenge and lead the conversation about challenges to family building and methods of resolution. Through national media, social media, and fundraising, the infertility community will take action to increase awareness of infertility to remove stigmas and improve access to family building options.
On Tuesday, April 25, in partnership with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, RESOLVE will bring more than 400 advocates to virtual meetings with hundreds of Members of Congress. The annual Advocacy Day will focus on access to care issues like insurance coverage for IVF for federal employees, protecting access to IVF, the adoption tax credit, and removing barriers to medical treatment for our Veterans and servicemembers.
RESOLVE’s National Infertility Awareness Week 2023 is supported by the following partners: Church & Dwight Co., Inc. makers of First Response™; CooperSurgical; EMD Serono; Encompass Fertility by CVS; Ferring Pharmaceuticals; Organon; Progyny; TMRW; and US Fertility.
NIAW became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services in 2010. RESOLVE can provide experts for interviews on all aspects of infertility, and personal patient stories from women and men struggling to build their families.
