The Journal of Invasive Cardiology (JIC), a peer-reviewed and indexed journal devoted to the non-surgical treatment of cardiovascular disease, and part of the HMP Global CardioVascular Learning Network, a premier digital information destination offering practical, relevant content and education, today announced that it will move exclusively online, beginning in January of 2021.
The journal provides a direct conduit to the latest innovations in clinical research and practice, concentrating on real-world outcomes around the use of therapeutic devices in cardiovascular and structural heart disease, drugs used in the cath lab and in post-PCI therapy, advances in imaging, and comparisons of treatment modalities. The all-digital format will contain everything readers have come to expect from JIC, delivered for an increasingly on-demand world. Plans for the new version include greater flexibility, new options for receiving important news updates, and expanded content.
“With this shift, JIC continues its mission to help cardiovascular practitioners make sense of the clinical significance of research and how it can be immediately applied in day-to-day patient care, while also demonstrating recognition that the landscape of information delivery has changed – educationally and environmentally,” said Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, Editor-in-Chief, JIC, Executive Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston. “We will further amplify the JIC mission with supplementary journal content beyond print, including an enhanced focus on video and podcasts.”
“The move to a digital-only format reflects our continued commitment to not only report on innovations in the medical community, but to stay up to date on the trends and advancements in the world of scientific publishing,” said Laurie Gustafson, Executive Editor. “We look forward to this launch and to the expanded content we are rolling out that will further benefit global cardiovascular research and practice.”
