The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Foundation (iaedp™) announces the First Call for Proposals for its annual Symposium, scheduled for February 17 – 21, 2021.
Held annually for training and education on the latest research regarding eating disorders treatment, the event draws healthcare professionals from the U.S. and across the globe. The 2021 iaedp™ Symposium will be held at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa.
The iaedp™ Foundation is pursuing abstracts on inventive and inclusive treatment modalities for the many phases of the journey for those with eating disorders — from denial and resistance to treatment and ultimately recovery.
According to Bonnie Harken, Managing Director of the iaedp™ Foundation, iaedp™ seeks treatment providers from all disciplines to convert ongoing research and treatment updates into meaningful eating disorder treatment protocols across populations.
“Our intention at iaedp™ is to provide diverse types training to as many professionals as possible in order to build and develop skills and knowledge about the treatment of eating disorders,” says Harken. “The iaedp™ Foundation programs are designed by treatment professionals for treatment professionals working in therapeutic settings.”
Many professionals who submit proposals for the iaedp™ Symposium include experiential or interactive components in their presentations. Preference is given to unique presentations that are being offered for the first time. Individuals are limited to submitting a maximum of two proposals as a presenter or as a co-presenter. Multiple proposals may impact the review process as well as selection for presenting at the iaedp™ Symposium.
