“I wanted to find a way to let them know that their everyday work isn’t being taken for granted during this time. It’s also exciting to be able to provide healthy meals for families by partnering with World Central Kitchen.”

The Hero Pin, a pin created on the idea that frontline workers need to be honored and recognized, has made its nationwide debut to say “thank you” to those working tirelessly through the COVID-19 pandemic. Hero Pins can be purchased online by the public to be given to any hero they know or meet during this time and share a photo on social media with the hashtag #theheropin. 100 percent of the proceeds from pin purchases benefit the World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization that works to provide children, families, and seniors with healthy meals year-round.

Lori Livacich, founder of The Hero Pin, felt that everyday workers should be recognized for their efforts during this unique time and wanted to find a creative way to do so. Livacich teamed up with friend and designer, Dan Georgopoulos to create these pins for people to give to anyone serving on the frontlines in the healthcare, grocery, pharmacy, delivery, maintenance industries, amongst many others.

“Frontline workers have had a significant impact on the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lori Livacich, founder of The Hero Pin. “I wanted to find a way to let them know that their everyday work isn’t being taken for granted during this time. It’s also exciting to be able to provide healthy meals for families by partnering with World Central Kitchen.”

The goal is to sell 1,000,000 pins to aid the World Central Kitchen’s meal efforts.
