The Conference Forum is pleased to announce the launch of the PODD newsletter. The PODD newsletter builds on the success of the company’s PODD: Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery conference, which features a wide range of drug delivery technologies and fosters partnering meetings.
The newsletter is dedicated to highlighting different voices making an impact and advancing the field of drug delivery. It will cover a wide range of topics from forming and managing partnerships, delivering and assessing drug delivery solutions, incorporating new technologies, leadership and entrepreneurial challenges, the patient experience, and more.
“As we celebrate 10 years of the PODD conference, we are excited to launch this quarterly publication. The newsletter will capture a wide range of perspectives on drug delivery technologies, from biotech and large pharma, to academics and patient advocates,” said Valerie Bowling, Executive Director, the Conference Forum.
The following interviews are featured in the inaugural issue:
Allen Templeton, PhD, VP, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Merck, discusses the rising importance of flexible manufacturing, as the industry’s focus turns to precision medicine.
Lilly Stairs, patient advocate and founder, Patient Authentic, gives her experience and perspective on using drug delivery devices for the treatment of disease.
Neil Jones, VP, Corporate Strategic Partnerships, Lindy Biosciences, looks back on how participating in the annual PODD Soapbox impacted the growth of his startup.
The first issue goes back into the archive to highlight two sessions from the PODD 2019 conference:
In the first archive piece, Professor Robert Langer, ScD, of MIT, discusses his history of staying on the cutting edge of innovation with a panel of colleagues and collaborators:
Sangeeta Bhatia, MD, PhD, Director, Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies, MIT;
Jeffrey Karp, PhD, Director, Laboratory for Accelerated Medical Innovation, Brigham and Women’s Hospital;
Giovanni Traverso, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, MIT and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
In the second archive piece, Kurt Sedo, VP, Operations, PharmaCircle, provides a review of the past year’s drug delivery pipeline, as well as a look towards the future.
“The global drug delivery market is expected to grow exponentially over the next decade. We are excited to profile leadership at all levels who are part of that growth, through both the PODD conference and newsletter,” said Michelle McDermott, Senior Drug Delivery Advisor, PODD: Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery conference.
