The Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS Science Scholarship just announced its recipient for the 2020-2021 school year! A big congratulation goes out to Lorena Ukanwa as well as all the participants for the scholarship program! Since the new school year will be starting during the fall, Dr. Kezian and his scholarship committee are getting ready to re-launch their scholarship program, and this will be the 6th annual launch! The scholarship will start accepting applications on November 1, 2021. Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS is a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles who works with all aspects of the dental field. He and his staff work with numerous cases in cosmetic dentistry, emergency dentistry, root canal therapy, extractions, porcelain crowns, dental veneers, teeth whitening, teeth cleaning, TMJ pain, tooth colored fillings, and digital X-Rays.

Being a science student himself, Dr. Kezian knew about the amount of hard work going to college required. Apart from the work ethic needed, students also have a financial weight to carry, because with higher education also comes a higher price. Dr. Kezian started his scholarship program in 2016 with the idea that, with a scholarship award, he could help students out with some of their financial stressors. Every year since the opening of the scholarship program, Dr. Kezian has gifted one student $1,200 towards their financial expenses.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be at least 18 years of age, attending a college or university in the fall of 2022, and must be a resident of the United States or Canada. Per the requirements of the program, students must send in a 1 to 2 page essay expressing why they think they deserve to win the award. Along with the essay, students must send in their resume or CV, their official transcript, and their SAT, DAT, GRE, or MCAT score report. Students can also send in a one minute video clip of themselves sharing an introduction to their life. The video is not mandatory but is definitely recommended.

He knows how difficult it has been to attend school during a pandemic and admires students’ hard work even more during this difficult circumstance. He hopes every student keeps the strong work ethic going and sends in their scholarship application come November 1st, 2021!
