In Q1 2020, when hospitals were still operating at full speed, Surgical Solutions facilitated 14% more procedures than in the same period a year earlier, and also saw revenues climb 12%. After a slowdown as hospitals diverted resources into fighting the pandemic, the sector rebounded in May, with Surgical Solutions posting a 148% month-on-month surge in volume of procedures.
Hospital equipment stockpiles and supply chains remain under pressure, and Surgical Solutions is helping facilities in more than 12 states to access the resources and personnel needed to rapidly resume normal operations. Many hospitals in non COVID-19 hotspots are now completing elective procedures at normal or better-than-normal rates, with one of Surgical Solutions’ biggest clients completing 15% more procedures than usual in May as cancelled cases were rescheduled.
