I am honored to take the next step in the journey to eradicate lymphoma and provide my thought leadership to advance the Foundation’s mission, and substantially improve access and affordability of care.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services – has elected Steven Eichberg of Plymouth, Mass. as Chair of its Board of Directors. Eichberg, a Board member since 2019, assumed his new duties from outgoing Chair Michael Werner, whose four-year term concluded on June 30.

A Denver, Colo. native, Eichberg has a background in marketing and operations where he previously led both for-profit and non-profit organizations on outreach strategy. A long-time supporter of the Lymphoma Research Foundation, Eichberg is also a photography, golf, and travel enthusiast.

During his term as Chair, Eichberg will primarily focus on supporting underserved communities by addressing health inequities and increasing access to quality cancer care. He also plans to strengthen the LRF Board of Directors further, reduce barriers for women and people of color entering the field of lymphoma research, and increase corporate partnerships to facilitate cause marketing opportunities and research initiatives.

“When I was diagnosed with lymphoma, I quickly learned that the Lymphoma Research Foundation has been instrumental in funding research that has positively impacted the field; and providing best-in-class resources and support lymphoma patients need to manage their disease,” said Eichberg. “Today, I am honored to take the next step in the journey to eradicate lymphoma and provide my thought leadership to advance the Foundation’s mission, and substantially improve access and affordability of care.”

“Since joining the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Steven Eichberg has been a leader in advancing our mission,” said Meghan Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer at the Lymphoma Research Foundation. “His dedication, insights, and leadership will be critical as the Foundation continues to increase its investment in research, education programs, and support services, all of which will be built upon the strong foundation established by Michael Werner and LRF’s Board of Directors.”

Eichberg assumed the duties of Chair effective July 1, 2020, at the conclusion of Michael Werner’s term as Chair of the Board. Werner, who will remain a member of the LRF Board of Directors, is the Founder and CEO of Chicago-based Home Experience, LLC, a digital and services company enhancing the homeownership experience. He is the former President and CEO of Globe Union Group, Inc., and a long-standing member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He joined the LRF Board of Directors in 2007.
