SteinLaw announces its partnership with The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation for the 2023 Back 2 School Charity Event, aiming to promote youth engagement and combat gun violence
MIAMI, Aug. 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — SteinLaw, a premier personal injury law firm, is proud to announce its partnership with The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation for the 2023 Back 2 School Charity Event. This year, the event will take place on August 12, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Pratt Memorial Holy Spirit Christian Church in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation, established in honor of the late Gregory Earl Smith Jr., is on a mission to create a safer and more engaging environment for students by funding extracurricular activities in schools. The foundation believes that by providing such opportunities, it can help students develop essential life skills, cultivate healthy habits, and divert them from negative influences.
“We are driven by the memory of Gregory and the deep desire to prevent other families from experiencing such a loss,” states Brandon Stein, the Founding Attorney of SteinLaw. “By supporting The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation, we are investing in our youth and promoting a safer, more promising future.”
On August 12, 2020, Gregory’s life was tragically ended by a senseless act of gun violence. The devastating incident left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and community, leading to the establishment of The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation in his memory. With the dedicated support of sponsors like SteinLaw, the foundation strives to uphold Gregory’s legacy and enact meaningful change.
The upcoming Back 2 School Charity Event will pay tribute to Gregory’s life, marking the third anniversary of his passing. Participants can expect heartfelt speeches from Gregory’s parents and other key community figures. In line with the foundation’s mission, the event will also provide financial support to the Athletics Department of The International School of Broward, Gregory’s former school.
“At SteinLaw, we believe in taking action and making a difference,” adds Stein. “Our collaboration with The Gregory Smith Jr. Foundation is just one way we’re working to bring about real change and combat the scourge of gun violence. We encourage everyone to join us in this cause.”
The event will include refreshments and the donation of food gift cards to Camillus House, a Miami-based non-profit providing humanitarian services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
