Soul Surgery, a Scottsdale-based leading integrative medicine addiction center for those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and mental health challenges, announced today that Melodie Simmons, MS, LPC, CEDS-S, ACHE has joined its team as Corporate Clinical Director.

Simmons is an accomplished leader who is licensed in Arizona as a professional counselor, is a registered supervisor on the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and an American College of Healthcare Executives member. She is also on track to earn her Doctorate in Healthcare Administration in May 2023.

In her role as Corporate Clinical Director, Simmons will devise strategies and plans for the Clinical Department according to Soul Surgery’s standards for excellent service and growth. She will ensure Soul Surgery is operating at optimal efficiency and work closely with founder John Mulligan to coordinate operations so all patients have the highest quality of care and experience as they begin their journey to sobriety.

Simmons has worked in multiple capacities in behavioral health since 2008 and in leadership roles since 2013. With a specialization in trauma-informed care and the treatment of maladaptive behaviors, Simmons is passionate about hope, healing and recovery from a holistic approach to mind, body and spirit. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Prior to joining Soul Surgery, Simmons successfully implemented an efficacious addiction recovery program in a world-renowned treatment facility and continued to implement the program in several other treatment facilities. She is the 2023-2025 President for the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) Phoenix Chapter and is the 2021-2023 Marketing Committee Chair.
