The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is pleased to announce the third annual Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School, a comprehensive educational program, being held virtually on Feb. 22–24, 2021.

The SITC Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School will feature leading experts in the field who will provide attendees with a deep understanding of the core principles and clinical applications of tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of cancer immunotherapy and features separate tracks allowing participants to tailor their experience by selecting the educational path most relevant to their learning goals.

“The return of Winter School affirms the society’s commitment to develop the next generation of leaders in immuno-oncology who will undoubtedly advance cancer immunotherapy in the lab and clinic,” said SITC President Mario Sznol, MD. “By continuing to invest in the education and career development of those in the field, we can accomplish SITC’s primary goal of improving the lives of cancer patients.”

During the virtual program, Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School participants will learn: core principles of tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy; recent advancements in drug and biomarker technologies and their clinical application; and grant writing to obtain research funding.

In addition to deepening their understanding of integral facets of the field of cancer immunotherapy, attendees will also be able to expand their professional network, developing new relationships with faculty and other thought leaders in this intimate setting through small group virtual breakout sessions.

“This is a terrific opportunity for researchers and clinicians, new to the field, to not only deepen their understanding cancer immunotherapy, but to also forge new relationships with colleagues from around the world,” said SITC Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School Co-Organizer Leisha A. Emens, MD, PhD. “Collaboration is a critical component to achieving scientific progress, and this program will seek to lay the foundation for new professional relationships that could blossom into cross-institutional teams in the future.”
