Sneez, LLC, the leading mobile app for real-time illness tracking, has added a new workplace and community-focused symptom tool to its portfolio of wellness technology solutions. SneezSafe is a web-based platform designed for employers and other organizations, such as colleges and universities, to screen for symptoms associated with COVID-19. Using AI-assisted triage and the latest CDC guidelines, SneezSafe processes user symptom data instantly, directing users to go on to work or class or to seek further evaluation or care. The tool can be accessed via web browser on any device and does not require an app download.
“We know that companies need to get their employees safely back to work. SneezSafe is a simple, non-invasive and secure tool that helps employees stay healthy and gives employers peace of mind. We are experts in using healthcare data and technology to make our communities healthier and better-informed,” says Dr. Bill Satterwhite, Sneez creator and pediatrician. “Our team is comprised of medical professionals, business leaders, and technology developers. We understand the importance of a healthy workforce and are uniquely positioned to provide a comprehensive solution during the COVID-19 era and beyond.” SneezSafe users can receive a daily reminder to complete the 10 second symptom survey which can be accessed through a web link, QR code, employer app or text message. If the employee reports concerning symptoms, then the app can connect the user to a wide range of employer directed, customizable care options ranging from a remote or onsite nurse, to employer-based health clinic, to virtual care or even a nearby clinic, all in real-time– right from SneezSafe.
SneezSafe features timely reports in an employer dashboard, providing employers information about who has been cleared to come to work and who needs to stay out of work based on symptoms and CDC guidelines. The tool can be customized to connect symptomatic employees with the most appropriate and accessible care providers. Wake Forest Baptist Health has already launched SneezSafe with several of its BestHealth for Business contracted employers in the last few weeks and plans to continue the roll-out with many more, as businesses in the region return to work. SneezSafe also offers the option to integrate with the Community Research Partnership National COVID-19 Study, providing Study participants an even easier way to report their daily symptoms. The Study uses this symptom survey data, along with diagnosis information, to better understand the spread of COVID-19. Study participation is optional for employers and users.
Sneez, LLC is no stranger to health data tracking and integration. The original Sneez app tracks a wide variety of illnesses, such as the influenza (flu) virus, vomiting and diarrhea, strep throat, allergies, asthma and tick-borne illnesses in Charlotte and Winston-Salem, NC and the surrounding areas. Sneez receives diagnosis data from partner health systems, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Atrium Health. The app then analyzes and converts data into zip-code based maps and graphs for each illness. Users can anonymously report symptoms for their household, view short videos that explain symptoms and treatments for common illnesses and connect directly to a health care provider.
About Sneez, LLC
Sneez, LLC uses technology and health data integration to help local communities stay informed and healthy. The Sneez brand was born when pediatric doctors, Bill Satterwhite, MD and Steven Hodges, MD, created the Sneez app in 2016 – the first of its kind real-time illness tracking app. The Sneez app uses diagnosis data from local physicians and urgent care locations to inform the public of a variety of sicknesses occurring in their specific geography, including flu, colds, strep throat and other common illnesses. This data is used to create a virtual heat map of illnesses circulating in local communities by zip code. The app also helps consumers and their families connect with local healthcare providers through scheduling in-office and virtual visits with providers, as well as equipping users with helpful information such as the wait times at their local emergency room. In response to COVID-19, Sneez has launched SneezSafe, a workplace solution for health screening and care. The web-based platform screens employees and other community members for COVID-19 through a simple daily survey and connects them with healthcare providers.
