I couldn’t be more excited about Smith’s future and this opportunity.

Smith, a global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces the appointment of Todd Burke to the position of President, Americas. Todd previously served as the Vice President of Business Development of Smith since 2016.

In this role, Todd will support Smith’s five trading offices in the Americas in developing their focus on growing relationships and supply chain strategies with Smith’s key accounts in the region. He will continue to work with his counterparts in the EMEA and APAC regions to cohesively manage Smith’s multinational original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and contract manufacturer (CM) account base.

Before taking on his role as Vice President of Business Development, Todd served as a Senior Account Executive managing global accounts with a team approach. He has held a variety of sales and management roles during his 23-year tenure at the company, including opening Smith’s Guadalajara office. His business development and relationship management experience will be instrumental in his new position.

“I couldn’t be more excited about Smith’s future and this opportunity,” said Todd. “Thanks to our owners’ vision and the most experienced leadership team in the business, Smith is very well positioned to expand our service offerings and deepen relationships with the largest consumers of semiconductors in the Americas.”

Over the years, Todd has worked to develop strong and genuine relationships with Smith’s customers, which will be critical to his future successes.

“I am proud to support Todd as he accepts this new challenge,” said Marc Barnhill, Smith’s Chief Trading Officer. “I am extremely confident that this is the pivotal next step for Smith to continue to distance ourselves from our competitors.”
