Houston, TX based SignatureCare Emergency Center is celebrating the 2019 Emergency Nurses Week by honoring, recognizing, and celebrating emergency room nurses who work for the organization.

This year’s Emergency Nurses Week is October 6-12. Emergency Nurses Day® is Wednesday, October 9.

According to Rhonda Abbe, RN, BCEN, Director of Operations for SignatureCare Emergency Center, the company will use the occasion to recognize the commitment of emergency nurses to patient care.

“They make a difference in the lives of our patients and colleagues. The occasion is also a time to celebrate our specialty,” she said.

She added that areas of focus during the upcoming event will include education, wellness promotion, injury prevention and emergency healthcare.

“Emergency Nurses are nurses that are highly trained to save lives. At SignatureCare Emergency Center we will be celebrating the week with activities and gifts of appreciation. We are also recognizing our nurses who have become Board Certified Emergency Nurses. This certification is part of our journey to the highest level of emergency nursing standards, and the cornerstone of every ER,” she added.

The Mayor of the City of Stafford, TX, Leonard Scarcella will visit SignatureCare Stafford ER on Monday, October 7, 2019 to present a proclamation honoring Nurses Week.

Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), the umbrella organization for emergency nurses, said this year’s Emergency Nurses Week theme will focus on how powerful emergency nurses are.

“They have the capability to provide safe practice and care in difficult situations while remaining confident, strong and empowering their colleagues,” ENA said.

Since 1989, the Emergency Nurses Association has recognized the second Wednesday in October as Emergency Nurses Day, a day honoring emergency nurses for their commitment to patient care.

In 2001, ENA expanded the celebration to devote an entire week to honoring emergency nurses, “because one day is simply not enough to recognize all contributions made by emergency nurses.”
