Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services, a franchisor with 125 franchise partners and 260 territories nationwide, has secured remarkable growth in recent years through the franchise model and its key offerings. The brand’s primary differentiator is its approach to staffing and caregiver-client matching, which allows mature adults to receive in-home non-medical care from individuals with similar life experiences. In the first quarter of 2023, the franchisor opened 6 new locations and executed eight new franchise agreements for a total of 14 new territories, laying the groundwork for expansion in Illinois, Texas, Colorado, California, Florida, New Jersey and Virginia.
“In 2022, we built relationships with 33 new franchise owners, which equated to 73 new territories granted,” explained Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care President Namrata Yocom-Jan. “We had a significant increase in the number of clients that we serve across the country, and we’ve certainly been blessed with great caregivers. It’s been a win-win, not only from a franchise development perspective but also in terms of the care we’ve been able to provide our seniors and the jobs we’ve created for caregivers.”
While the demand for in-home care for mature populations continues to grow, with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reporting that nearly 70% of retirees will require some form of long-term care, Seniors Helping Seniors® is cornering the market with its unique care services and approach to caregiver-client matching.
“We are Bringing Love into the lives of Seniors with Dignity and Respect® and giving seniors the opportunity to continue to live at home and maintain their independence,” Yocom-Jan explained. “What we are providing is companionship by our caregivers who are closer in age and understand the aging process. They have empathy and understand what seniors are really going through rather than less mature care caregivers who just try to sympathize.”
“We want to create a friendship,” added Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care Chief Operating Officer Daniel Jan. “It’s not just someone coming to do logistical services; it’s someone coming that truly enjoys spending time with the seniors. We really focus on the matching process to ensure a great fit.”
Looking to the remainder of the year, the Seniors Helping Seniors® system is looking to welcome an additional 25 franchise partners to its network, bringing its services to new cities nationwide. The concept is also working to develop a new website for franchise owners that will provide additional business support and streamline internal processes, empowering them to provide even better service to the seniors in their communities.
“About four years ago, we decided to implement changes to our programs. We began offering personal care, memory care, assistive technologies, telecare and more,” Yocom-Jan explained. “This gave us a strong foundation to reinvigorate the brand and refreshed franchise development offers. In the past 18 months, we have granted over 120 new territories, and we look forward to continuing along such a positive trajectory.”
ABOUT SENIORS HELPING SENIORS:
Seniors Helping Seniors® franchise system was founded by husband-and-wife duo Kiran and Philip Yocom. Kiran, who grew up in India, later worked to advance humanitarian efforts alongside Mother Teresa. After Kiran moved to the U.S. in 1995 and married her husband Philip, the Yocoms felt called to provide loving care to seniors and to cultivate an exchange of gifts at every generational level. Together, the Yocoms founded Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services in 1998, opening the brand up to franchising in 2006. With a mission to be the most respected and rewarding homecare provider in the U.S., Seniors Helping Seniors® locations stand apart from competitors as the only company that prioritizes hiring active seniors to provide care services to their less-active counterparts. Seniors Helping Seniors® service aligns caregivers and clients based on the abilities and needs of both by offering a wide range of care services. Seniors Helping Seniors® network has grown to 200-plus locations, 125 franchise partners in 30-plus states and international markets.
