The Free Masketeers Hospital Support Program, a San Francisco Bay Area initiative, is aiding local healthcare heroes during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing desperately needed personal protection equipment (PPE).
Thanks to the generosity of many donors and the efforts of over 250 volunteers, the Free Masketeers has supplied 3,000 hospital-approved fabric masks, 3,000 surgical masks and 2,000 KN95 masks to 54 healthcare facilities including 3,300 delivered to the Contra Costa County Health Department this week. The Free Masketeers currently has 5,000 masks available for distribution and welcomes requests from Bay Area healthcare facilities facing PPE shortages.
The Free Masketeers also announces an expansion of its support of healthcare heroes by offering connections to volunteer mental health and legal professionals. “Many of our healthcare heroes have expressed a need for personal counselling and assistance with will updates and estate planning to ensure their families are cared for if they fall ill,” remarked Kris Narayan Chief Executive of The Free Masketeers, “If you are a healthcare worker in need of these services, or a mental health or legal professional willing to donate your expertise, please contact us.”
