SAGICO’s founder, James Gibson, was honored to serve as guest speaker at the 9/11 ceremonies in conjunction with the Chairman of the Medal of Honor Foundation Convention. The Medal of Honor is the United States’ highest award for military valor in action. And while over 150 years have passed since its inception, the meaning behind the Medal has never tarnished. Etched within are the very values that each Recipient demonstrated in the moments that mattered—bravery, courage, sacrifice, integrity. Each deserving honoree exemplifies a deep love of country and a desire to always do what is right. A distinguished award presented only to the deserving, the Medal tells a story of its own.

There are 3,506 Medal of Honor recipients, 68 of whom are living today. Tampa hosted the 2019 Medal of Honor Convention, an annual event to “celebrate the virtues and values we as a Nation hold dear: duty, honor, service, humility, and heroism,” forty-six of the living recipients gathered here to bring their stories of courage and integrity to the community, and their portraits are now enshrined in the VA Hospital in the “Hall of Heroes”. Ceremony attendees included the Undersecretary from the VA, Command Staff from SOCOM and CENTCOM, Chief Medical and Logistics Officers, and other noted dignitaries from the VA Hospital Clinical and Procurement Staff.

In response to the global pandemic and growing healthcare crisis, SAGICO obtained the clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for the “SAGICO V2O Ventilator” in mid 2020. SAGICO’s team of developers and engineers shifted their focus during the global COVID-19 pandemic to the production of ventilators in response to the shortage for hospitals. SAGICO provides private and government healthcare facilities with supply chain solutions ranging from medical spinal implants, contact lenses, eyeglasses and other needed procurements and is well positioned to expand its product offerings.

The SAGICO ventilator has been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The FDA has determined that the SAGICO V2O SYSTEM model meets the criteria for safety, performance and labeling set forth in Section II and Appendix A of the EUA. As such, the SAGICO V2O SYSTEM is authorized for emergency use in healthcare settings to treat patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, subject to the conditions set forth in the EUA, and has been added to Appendix B of the EUA. Additionally, SAGICO obtained the required clearance for the importation and distribution of Class I Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to include nitrile gloves, N95 and 3-ply surgical facemasks, isolation gowns, shoe covers, mattress covers, goggles and face masks. These much-needed PPE items are at the front line of defense for healthcare workers and first responders. Before the end of 2020, SAGICO will launch an additional respiratory aid in the form of the Walker CPAP / BiPAP product line.
