Within Health announced that renowned radiologist and healthcare quality expert, Dr. Ben Wandtke has joined the company’s clinical advisory board. In his role as Senior Clinical Advisor, Dr. Wandtke will advise the team on strategic direction, growth, product development, and ensuring alignment with national standards, and initiatives focused on improving follow-up adherence in radiology.

Dr. Wandtke serves as the Imaging Department’s Vice Chair of Quality and Safety at the University of Rochester Medical Center. In 2015, he developed and successfully implemented one of the first radiology recommendation tracking programs in the United States. Since then, Dr. Wandtke has led numerous grant supported research efforts studying the identification and management of incidental and actionable radiology findings. He has worked closely with leading vendors on the development of recommendation tracking systems, including natural language processing tools and database design.
Dr. Wandtke is active in radiology leadership at the American College of Radiology, serving on the IT commission, data science institute artificial intelligence committee, technical expert panel for the development of closing the results loop quality measures, and the general radiology improvement database committee. He regularly lectures on reducing delayed diagnoses at national meetings, leading patient safety organizations, and to risk management groups.
