Recovery Point Systems, a leading national provider of cloud-based business resilience solutions, was recognized as one of three providers in a select group known as Evolved Traditional DR Providers in Gartner Inc.’s 2020 Market Guide for DRaaS 1. The vendors in this group are historically well known for traditional DR and demonstrate evolved service offerings.
“We are honored to be acknowledged by Gartner as a distinguished DRaaS provider with decades of experience and a strong history supporting the recovery of non-x86 workloads,” said Marc Langer, Recovery Point’s President.
In the 2020 Market Guide, Gartner contextualizes the types of DRaaS providers serving mid-market and large enterprises. DRaaS is maturing and offerings are more industrialized. The size and scope of DRaaS implementations have increased significantly in the last few years.
Recovery Point was recognized for its capability to support complex heterogeneous environments, including IBM Mainframe, IBM i, AIX, HPUX and Solaris as well as physical and virtual x86. In the Evolved Traditional DR Providers group, Recovery Point was the only FedRAMP-accredited provider offering virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) recovery.
Gartner noted that vendors in this group have some of the largest and most complex engagements, with Recovery Point offering assisted and fully managed support offerings along with sandbox testing for physical workloads and Business Process Resilience (BPR) as a premium add-on service for customers that require fully managed application recovery.
