Radsource Completes 12 Installations of ProtonPACS in Q1

Holy schnikes, x-rays load so fast now that it hurts my face!

Radsource, a leader in radiology clinical services and provider of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), kicked off the first quarter of 2020 with 12 installations of ProtonPACS, including both installs for new clients and expansions for existing clients.

In the first quarter, Radsource completed new implementations of ProtonPACS at facilities in seven states. These included a small rural hospital, large multi-specialty practices, interventional radiology practices, imaging centers and an orthopedic specialty practice. In addition to onboarding these new clients, Radsource installed new add-on instances of ProtonPACS for four existing customers.

Canyon View Medical Group in Spanish Fork, UT, is a multi-specialty medical group with locations throughout southern Utah. The facilities offer a wide range of services including urgent care, family medicine, orthopedics and women’s care.

Burdened by a slow-loading, cumbersome PACS that was becoming increasingly expensive to maintain, Canyon View’s imaging department knew it was time for a change. They chose to upgrade to ProtonPACS and went live with the new system earlier this year.

Before we were using ProtonPACS, our providers would always complain about the speed to pull up images, how complicated it was to find prior studies, and just an overly clunky feel to the software that we used,” stated Matt Thibault, Director of I.T. at Canyon View. “After moving to ProtonPACS, I’ve heard nothing but good things. I think the best comment that I got from one of our providers who works at a remote location was: ‘Holy schnikes, x-rays load so fast now that it hurts my face!’ We highly recommend moving to ProtonPACS if you haven’t already, with one warning: get extra face protection!”
