Hopefully, the stories will be entertaining, the observations will be insightful and enlightening and the lessons challenging.

Author Walter David Ballew explores the Biblical view of pride and humility in Wrongful Assumption of Position (A Guide to Understanding) ($14.49, paperback, 9781662825132; $22.99, hard cover, 9781662829161; $6.99, e-book, 9781662825149).

Is pride a good thing or a bad thing? We tell our children we are proud of them, and we encourage others to be proud of their accomplishments, but a prideful person makes us roll our eyes and turn our backs. What does the word actually mean, and why does it matter? Ballew answers these questions and helps readers apply the answers to their lives.

“Hopefully, the stories will be entertaining, the observations will be insightful and enlightening and the lessons challenging. But more than entertaining the stories need to be accurate and truthful, and more than insightful they need to give us understanding and discernment,” said Ballew.

W. David Ballew was born in Oklahoma City on July 5, 1944, the son of E. Ray Ballew and Faye Hadley. He married Sara Duncan on March 25, 1967, and together they have three children Mitchell, Meredith, and Sarah. They have eight grandchildren: Luke, Zander, Benjamin, Eli, Liam, Hadley, Piper and Scout.

Dr. Ballew has had an extensive career as an electrical engineer in design, manufacturing, teaching, and consulting. He holds a B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E. and an earned doctorate, all in electrical engineering. Prior to this book all other publications have been in the technical arena.
