Longtime Sewickley-based practice to set up additional office location and transition outpatient surgeries to AHN’s Wexford Health & Wellness Pavilion in August

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) announced today that Premier Women’s Health (PWH), a leading provider of women’s health care services in the Sewickley area and a fully owned AHN practice since 2014, will be one of the core OBGYN practices based at the new AHN Wexford Hospital when it opens in the fall of 2021.

Premier Women’s Health’s current offices in the Sewickley area will remain open, with an additional office opening at AHN’s Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion in August.

“The staff of Premier Women’s Health is excited to practice at the new AHN Wexford Hospital. We look forward to caring for our patients in this state-of-the-art, family-friendly and patient-centric facility when it opens next year,” said Frank DiCenzo, DO, physician, Premier Women’s Health. “We are also pleased to add new office space at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion to accommodate our growing practice.”

In July, Premier will begin transitioning outpatient surgeries to the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion’s ambulatory surgery center. The practice will continue delivering babies at Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital until February 1, 2021, at which time they will move deliveries to AHN’s West Penn Hospital until the Wexford Hospital opens later in the year.

“We are committed to working with our patients over the coming months to ensure they are informed of these changes and to make the transition as seamless as possible,” Dr. DiCenzo said. “Our affiliation with AHN has provided enhanced value to our patients over the past six years, including streamlined access to advanced specialty care services such as urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, high-risk pregnancy care, postpartum depression, addiction services and infertility services. We are excited about the additional benefits further integration with Allegheny Health Network and the new Wexford Hospital will bring to our community.”

AHN Wexford Hospital will be the Network’s fifth obstetrical hospital, with state-of-the-art maternity and neonatal care capabilities, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Network currently delivers more than 8,000 babies annually at West Penn, Forbes, Jefferson and Saint Vincent Hospitals. West Penn is one of the region’s leading obstetrical facilities, particularly for high risk pregnancies. The hospital recently opened a new state-of-the-art Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a one-of-a kind Alexis Joy D’Achille Center for Perinatal Mental Health.

“AHN Women’s Institute is proud to welcome Premier Women’s Health as one of the core practices at our AHN Wexford Hospital, and we look forward to helping further support the comprehensive medical and surgical needs of the group’s patients at our facilities,” said Marcia Klein-Patel, MD, Chair, AHN Women’s Institute. “Premier’s deep roots in the community and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care have made them a perfect fit for AHN.”
