This year’s topics delve into the challenges and opportunities facing drug delivery today, including the future of RNA delivery beyond injectable vaccines, a first-time-ever discussion with payers on delivery convenience and patient reimbursement, and meeting the demands of at-home drug delivery
NEW YORK (PRWEB)
June 28, 2022
The Conference Forum announced today that it released the first agenda, including the Keynotes and Zeitgeist Speakers for the 12th annual PODD: Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery, happening October 24-25, 2022 at the Westin Copley Place, in Boston, MA.
The 2022 Keynote Speakers are: Robert Langer, PhD, David H. Koch Institute Professor, MIT, and John Maraganore, PhD, former and founding CEO, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, and the Zeitgeist Speaker is Nicholas Warne, PhD, Vice President Pharmaceutical R&D, Pfizer.
Dr Langer will be providing an update on the exciting progress happening out of the Langer Lab, including development of polymers to deliver drugs, particularly genetically engineered proteins, DNA and RNAi, continuously at controlled rates for prolonged periods of time.
Dr Maraganore will share highlights and lessons learned from his 19 years as a CEO including how he and his team conquered some very difficult drug delivery challenges.
Dr Warne will discuss what the drug delivery industry learned from COVID-19, and approaches to leverage knowledge of RNA and LNP technologies for other therapeutic applications.
The role of drug delivery has become increasingly more important because of the COVID-19 pandemic, advancements in drugs and patient preferences. The current state of drug delivery technologies aim to overcome existing challenges, such as improved organ targeting, increased therapeutic index, and reduced off-target toxicities, in a way that was previously unachievable and fulfill the promise of life-changing therapeutics.
“This year’s topics delve into the challenges and opportunities facing drug delivery today, including the future of RNA delivery beyond injectable vaccines, a first-time-ever discussion with payers on delivery convenience and patient reimbursement, and meeting the demands of at-home drug delivery,” said Valerie Bowling, Executive Director, Conference Forum.
The 2022 PODD co-chairs are:
- Shawn Davis, PhD, AstraZeneca
- Ann Daugherty, PhD, Genentech
- Mark Schiebler, PhD, Roche

About PODD: Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery
Pharma, biotech and the drug delivery industries gather annually at PODD to assess delivery needs, latest trends and information on deals and learn about a wide range of innovative drug delivery technologies that could improve the delivery of various types of drugs. This can include proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, biologics, and small molecules and more. PODD provides business development opportunities through organized networking and a partnering tool for new, emerging and established collaborations.
About the Conference Forum
The Conference Forum is a life science industry research firm that brings specific markets together to share and exchange ideas and information on how to get therapeutics to patients faster. Now celebrating their 12th year, they continue to examine and challenge the complex ecosystem of drug development and delivery, bringing ideas together from a variety of sources to help advance clinical research with common, patient-centered goals. Each of the key research areas – Clinical Trial Innovation, Patients as Partners, R&D Leadership, Immuno-Oncology, Drug Delivery and Clinical Research as a Care Option – has a dedicated conference, quarterly newsletter and podcasts.
They present both public and private strategic-level conferences, as well as convening focus groups and advisory boards for professionals in the life sciences and healthcare community. They also provide specialized marketing services to support thought leadership, branding and lead generation.-
