CARF International announced that Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services has been accredited for a period of three years for its adult Intensive Outpatient Treatment: Substance Use Disorders (SUD) program, the Partial Hospitalization: Integrated: SUD / Mental Health treatment program for adults, and its Residential Treatment: Integrated: SUD / Mental Health treatment program for adults.

This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to Pine Grove. This accreditation was the result of a concentrated team effort on Pine Grove’s behalf. Debbie Sanford, RN, MS, MBA, Pine Grove’s Administrator said, “I am very appreciative of every Pine Grove staff member, who contributed many hours towards this accreditation, checking charts, writing policies, and ensuring staff education and competencies. This important achievement certainly took the whole Pine Grove team coming together.”

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Located in South Mississippi, Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services is one of the nation’s most comprehensive treatment campuses. Pine Grove’s world renowned programs treat gender specific substance abuse including specialized tracks for co-occurring eating disorders and trauma. Additionally, Pine Grove offers an Intensive Outpatient substance abuse healing program for adults and a separate treatment track specifically for those who are age 55 plus. Other Pine Grove specialty programs include a dedicated professional’s treatment curriculum and a comprehensive evaluation center. Pine Grove also features a program for patients with sexual addiction. Inpatient Services including an Adult Psychiatric Unit, along with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, and Outpatient Services are other components. Pine Grove is a division of Forrest Health, a partnership of healthcare organizations across South Mississippi, and the behavioral healthcare extension of Forrest General Hospital, a 547 bed, level II Regional Trauma Center.
