Palo Alto University Presents: Superstar Psychologists in Technology

On March 19, 2020, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PST, Palo Alto University will host Superstar Psychologists in Technology, a psychology workshop featuring a presentation from Sam Jaffee, User Experience Researcher at Google. This event will be sponsored by Palo Alto University Research Professor C. Barr Taylor, m2Health, i4Care and Behavioral Intervention Technologies (BITS) student group.

Sam Jaffee attended Bowling Green State University, where he received his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology and also studied motion perception and spatial problem-solving in digital environments. Following his completion of the Ph.D. program, Jaffee worked as a User Experience Researcher at Capital One for two years, supporting various credit-related products. His career at Google began after a one-year stint at Alma College, where he took a visiting professorship. In his work with Google, Jaffee’s work focuses on improving mobile keyboards.

Outside of his current work, Jaffee has a passion for teaching and hopes to utilize his experiences from the applied world to improve the academic experiences of students inside and outside of psychology and the social sciences.

The event will take place at the Palo Alto University E-Clinic Suite C15A, at the Los Altos campus. Maureen O’Connor, Ph.D., J.D., president of Palo Alto University, will moderate the event. Dr. Jaffee’s presentation will be preceded by a reception that will include light refreshments and food. President O’Connor is excited to welcome Jaffee to speak at this event and stated, “Palo Alto University celebrates professionals that pave the way for innovation in psychology.
