Center for Behavioral Health Helps Spearhead Nevada’s 2019 Opioid Summit

The Opioid Summit presents an opportunity for the entire ecosystem that monitors, supports and treats substance use disorders to come together to discuss and share best practices,

Center for Behavioral Health (CBH), a nationally accredited outpatient treatment facility, today announced that it will present on multiple tracks at the 2019 Nevada Opioid Summit. Hosted at the Tuscany Hotel in Las Vegas August 14-15, the event will address numerous topics ranging from prevention to treatment of the evolving opioid crisis.

This year’s Opioid Summit represents the continuation of and success that was started with the inaugural Governor Opioid Summit held in 2016. This year’s conference, headlined by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, is timely as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calculated that more 70,237 overdose deaths occurred in 2017. With the increasing rise of overdoses and the introduction of new drugs (i.e. Fentanyl), the recovery treatment industry is looking at new and integrated ways to address what has become an epidemic.

“The Opioid Summit presents an opportunity for the entire ecosystem that monitors, supports and treats substance use disorders to come together to discuss and share best practices,” said Brant Massman, CEO of Center for Behavioral Health. “Opioids have changed the way that addiction is viewed, treated and addressed both in Nevada and across the nation. At Center for Behavioral Health, we realize that successful treatment requires a network of professionals coming from multiple fields and non-traditional approaches to combat opioid use to allow patients the best opportunity to resume a normal life through medical-assisted treatment.”

Center for Behavioral Health has been on the forefront of introducing and implementing a number of patient-centric protocols that integrate many community providers in order to surround patients with a full array of social services. This approach has CBH participating in forums as well as national and community-based conferences across the nation. For example, CBH Director Krista Hales recently participated at the Region 10 Opioid Summit where she presented “Recovery Oriented System of Care: Integrating community providers to address the Opioid Epidemic.” For the Nevada Opioid Summit, Hales will be presenting with a number of other CBH personnel to lead discussions on the following topics:

Community Based Responses: Best Practices for Peer Support Services

Discussing the various roles peers can play in the treatment and recovery continuum from pre-engagement to long term recovery. Describing core competencies for peer support and how agencies can integrate peer support into their programming.

Criminal Justice Interventions: Court Response to the Opioid Crisis in Rural and Urban Communities

Discussing establishment of specialty courts and referrals with community providers.

Strategies for Integration: Integrating SUD Treatment into Primary Care

Reviewing strategies and best practice for integrating substance use disorder screening and treatment into primary care centers. Discussing treatment modalities that can be accessed for diverse environments.

Review of Treatment Systems: IOTRC Overview

Reviewing how Integrated Opioid Treatment Recovery Centers (IOTRC) differ from traditional treatment models, requirements to be designated as an IOTRC, how peers are a valuable component of the hub-and-spoke system, and how mobile recovery teams are being utilized to support communities.

Triple W Adds Web Dashboard to DFree Pro – First Wearable Device for Incontinence for Use by Senior Care Providers

https://www.prweb.com/

The DFree Pro web-based dashboard can show patients’ urination timings at a glance using a chart.

“DFree Pro has been helpful in obtaining assessment of our residents,” said Masumi Tatsuno RN, CM who works at Umenoki Gardens Senior Home in Union City, Calif. “Now we can better understand the intervals between bathroom visits and provide more timely care.”

Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, today announced that DFree® Pro, the first wearable for urinary incontinence, features a new web-based dashboard for monitoring patient data on a browser running on a desktop or laptop computer. Now care professionals can monitor their patients’ urinary status at a glance using either the DFree Pro app on their smartphone or tablet or via the DFree Pro web dashboard on a desktop or laptop computer. DFree stands for “diaper-free” and helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. DFree Pro is designed for use by hospitals, skilled nursing and senior care communities. DFree Pro is currently used in over 500 senior care communities in Japan, Europe and the U.S. since 2017.

DFree Pro is a non-invasive wearable device that monitors the bladder with an ultrasound sensor and sends notifications to a caregiver’s smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer when their patients need to go to the bathroom via the DFree Pro companion app or the web dashboard. The app and dashboard can track multiple patients on a single screen so the caregiver will know which patients need toileting care. DFree Pro pairs with a WiFi base station to upload a patient’s urination status to the cloud to enable remote monitoring by physicians, nurses and professional care providers.

The device is designed primarily for seniors and people with a disability who suffer from loss of bladder control. DFree Pro can also significantly reduce the burden for caregivers who need to provide bathroom assistance. Based on results from deploying DFree Pro in senior care communities, use of DFree Pro contributed to 30 percent reduction in overall care time provided and 50 percent reduction in cost of diapers and pads used. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide (including 25 million Americans).

“DFree Pro has been helpful in obtaining assessment of our residents,” said Masumi Tatsuno RN, CM who works at Umenoki Gardens Senior Home in Union City, Calif. “Now we can better understand the intervals between bathroom visits and amount of accumulated urine which enables us to provide more timely care.”

“DFree Pro makes it easy for caregivers to quickly get a read on their patients’ urinary status whether they’re using a smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer,” said Atsushi Nakanishi, Founder and CEO for Triple W. “Caregivers can anticipate each patient’s needs resulting in improved quality of care for the patient while simultaneously improving care efficiency and decreasing the number of diapers needed.”

Availability & Pricing

DFree Pro is available in the U.S. Senior care communities and hospitals may rent DFree Pro for a $100/month subscription per device. Triple W also offers a free 30-day trial option for approved senior care communities and hospitals. DFree Pro includes: a DFree device, USB charging cable, AC adapter and two WiFi base stations. The DFree Pro companion app may be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play. The app supports iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBook) running iOS version 10 or later and Android devices (phones, tablets and laptops) running Android 4.4 or later. For the Second Year in a Row, Donaldson Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Solutions is Named on Two Prestigious Lists of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Donaldson Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Solutions displaying awards from Inc. 5000 and the Fast 50

“It is quite an honor to be included on the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in arow. It is a testament to our many happy patients, who continue to recommend us to their friends and family year after year!”, says Donaldson.

Donaldson Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Solutions has been recognized on both a local and national scale in two recent and well-renowned listing publications, the Inc. 5000 and Columbus’s Fast 50, highlighting the practice among the country’s fastest-growing privately held businesses for the 2019 year.

Dr. Jeffrey Donaldson, CEO and owner of Donaldson Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Solutions, is excited and proud to be featured in these respected publications for the growth the practice has seen under his leadership. This is the second consecutive year that Donaldson Plastic Surgery has made both lists, and the third year overall that they have made the Fast 50 list.

Inc. 5000

Inc. magazine revealed that Donaldson Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Solutions is No. 3861 on its annual Inc. 5000 list. Ranking higher than last year, the practice is one of 5000 companies nationwide that were selected for growth achieved in a three-year period. The 2019 Inc. 5000 list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2015 and 2018.

The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

“It is quite an honor to be included on the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in a row. It is a testament to our many happy patients, who continue to recommend us to their friends and family year after year!”, says Donaldson.

Not only have the companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared with prior lists. The 2019 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 454 percent, and a median rate of 157 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $237.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 1,216,308 jobs over the past three years.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.

Fast 50

Columbus Business First recently honored Donaldson Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Solutions with a position on its 24th Annual Fast 50 list, a collection of central Ohio companies that have seen the largest average annual revenue growth over the past three years.

Making the list first in 2013, then again in 2018, Donaldson Plastic Surgery was only the fifth medical practice ever to be honored, and the first plastic surgery practice ever to appear, in the Fast 50.

“Our staff is thrilled to be named among the Fast 50, Columbus’s fastest-growing companies, for the third time. We all work very hard to create the finest plastic surgical and aesthetic experiences in central Ohio, and our consistent growth is one important measure of these efforts.”, Donaldson says.

Rankings of the 50 honorees will be revealed at the Columbus Business First awards luncheon at the Hilton Columbus Downtown on Oct. 22, 2019. You can view the entire 2019 list on the Columbus Business First website.

The Kids and Parents Guide to Back to School Wellness

With a new school year, there’s often a lot of change. Families need to adjust their bedtimes and encourage new homework habits. Parents are also looking for nutritious food to fuel their family’s day. Here are some easy wellness tips and ideas to manage the back-to-school season.

A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/Ph1kyEYTyXQ

Eat healthy even with a busy back-to-school schedule:

Most families find that eating healthy with a packed schedule can be tough. But if you plan ahead by having healthy items ready to go, it’s much easier.

One avocado product that should be at the top of your list is from GoodFoods, and it’s a great example of how convenience can give you lots of healthy options.

They have 4-pack single serves of guacamole and avocado mash that you can instantly pull from your fridge or put in the kids’ lunchbox. They don’t brown, and they also don’t have added sugar or artificial ingredients. You can make an easy breakfast with the avocado mash on toast while you make the kids’ lunches.

And the ready-to-eat guacamole is full of flavor with huge avocado chunks in every bite — you can use it as a healthy dip for quinoa-and-rice crackers or carrot sticks.

Have a wellness routine to help stay healthy:

It can be easy to run out the door to school without properly brushing your teeth. One product that might help motivate your child to brush better is from Oral B, the #1 Dentist Recommended brand worldwide. It’s their Kids Vitality Rechargeable Toothbrush. It has a built-in timer that can help your child brush for the dentist-recommended full two minutes. Also, its extra-soft brush head gently brushes your child’s teeth and cleans better than a manual toothbrush.

Help your children’s immune system stay strong:

You can fill up on colorful fruits and veggies for a natural immune booster which can also help fight off viruses — examples are oranges, grapefruit, broccoli, and strawberries.

You can also try to get elderberries in your diet as one of our wellness tips. Elderberry is a superfruit which can help keep immune systems in tip-top shape.

And if you’re looking for an elderberry option for kids — Dimetapp has new Children’s Immune Support Elderberry Gummies. These are a medicine-free option for kids to get their everyday immune support — they taste great and kids love gummies, of course. “We look forward to completing this exciting addition, ensuring BayCare and St. Joseph’s Hospital continues to provide superior healthcare services to the Tampa community.”

St. Joseph’s Hospital, Robins & Morton, HOK Architecture, Carastro Engineering and honored guests joined together to celebrate the structural topping out of the St. Joseph’s Hospital patient tower expansion located in Tampa, Florida, on Sept. 10.

The expansion project will include a new six-story patient tower that will house a two-story lobby, waiting and on-call rooms and three patient care floors with 90 private patient rooms. A new bridge will connect St. Joseph’s Hospital to St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, allowing for patient transport from one facility to the other.

“Robins & Morton is proud to partner with BayCare and St. Joseph’s Hospital on this exciting project,” Robins & Morton Senior Superintendent Steve Williams said. “The scope of this project connects St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, providing safe and efficient pedestrian paths between all three facilities. We look forward to completing this exciting addition, ensuring BayCare and St. Joseph’s Hospital continues to provide superior healthcare services to the Tampa community.”

The patient tower expansion is scheduled to be completed in mid-2020.
